It's a Tactical Shared World Shooter. Not the first of its kind exactly but the first one executed with any kind of growth potential. It's very similar to Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1 and 2 on the Original Xbox.

Released for the Dreamcast. Then Xbox and others later.

I definitely do not mind being corrected by someone who also shared the experience haha. I was aware of the original versions but the xbox online was more effective at supporting the numbers. Dreamcast was no doubt the pioneer.

I just have my Dreamcast sitting beside my TV still. So I had to say something or it might not work the next time I plug it in.

Phantasy Star was incredible.
-
Heck yea! With the inclusion of swords this game gets even closer.
-
If they made the "Double Cannon" I'd pass out from excitement. On a side not this game does share quiet a few similarities with PSO.

This game seriously expanded upon that idea of gameplay. Hell even the Exos remind me of the Androids in their world. Oddly enough, their story was equally as vague unless you played the Old old Phantasy Star games but people played on when they found their right weapons and spells. I'll always miss summoning couches in the lobby.

I bet Bungie in creating this game someone said "lets do Phantasy Star but as an FPS"

Lol Not a bad way to go. It's nice being able to jump and ADS. Exotics are hard to come by in Destiny but people who've never played PSO don't know the horror of only being allowed to acquire items based solely on your character's astrological sign. Imagine if in Destiny you could only get a Suros by finding an Awoken Hunter whose gamertag began with "J".
