I'm not going to debate this, I frankly don't care what anyone has to say in dissent, because arguments of this nature are completely futile as neither party will ever change their personal convictions due to an online argument. I don't see a single thing wrong with abortion for two main reasons: - First trimester fetus has no vitality. If you separated it from its mother, regardless of how much care you give it, it will simply not live. - First trimester fetus has no conscious or cognitive abilities. The one thing that distinguishes humans from any other animal, and has put us on top over animals much stronger and with much more survivability, is not present. The name of the specific cortex responsible for our conscious is running shy from my memory right now, but it only starts developing after about 24 weeks into gestation. And furthermore, I find the idea of a male majority legislative body having [i]any[/i] say in whether or not a female can terminate a pregnancy completely disgusting. While I do think it should be an agreed upon decision between the impregnating male and pregnant female, that is entirely different from restricting the ability.

1 ReplyI personally wouldn't want my wife to get an abortion, because what if that child could be the next Paul McCartney? But, if a woman wants to get an abortion, my god let her do it. Plus, if abortion was illegal, women would turn to unsafe ways, like the coat hanger or back alley abortions.

So what's the other option?[spoiler]Pro abortion![/spoiler]Everyone should just get sterilized to avoid dumb accident babies, then if they really want kids, adopt. I hate when humans are ignorant to the overpopulation problem. If I wanted kids, I'd adopt 3+ year olds since it is that many years less of changing diapers.

Abortion has nothing to do with reproductive rights as the reproduction has already occurred by the time you find out a child has been made. I really don't see arguing anything past that point even though you can also argue that the same child's life has infinite worth unless the mother (and no one else) decides if that child should be put to death. This is strictly a moral issue, not scientific or political.

2 RepliesIt's just murdering a child -If you have a miscarriage, then why do you say "I lost the baby" if it's just a fetus -Why do doctors say "Don't drink/smoke because it harms the baby" and they don't say "Don't drink/smoke because it will harm the fetus" -When the abortion takes place the baby has reflexes to it. You can't have reflexes without nerves. If you have nerves you feel pain. -There are 5 ways to get an abortion *Chop the baby up and pull it up piece by piece *Man made miscarriage *Morning after pill *I like to call it "The baby vacuum" *Lastly they can break the baby's skull Oh yea, that's perfectly humane (Only exception is when it's killing the mother)

There is a social contract, but saying one cannot get an abortion except through illegal means is far more immoral. You aren't pro-life if you aren't willing to provide healthcare, welfare, and a meaningful adoption service as there are well over 300k children waiting to be adopted. *Mic drop*
