Bungie, it's real simple. STOP MAKING HIGH IMPACT SHOTGUNS.

Title. Edit: Or give them the HopScotch treatment. Edit 2: Or just obviously remove the two perks that we all know make them infamous. Edit: For those talking about PvE, get a Patch-A. It's an amazing PvE shotgun. Especially with Surrounded. Edit 4: Please think before posting. Range and impact both tie together. If a Dry Rot and Felwinters have the same range + shot package or something, Felwinters will win everytime because it has more impact. So high impact + high range = long killing distance. Notice how nobody complains about Rude Awakening or Invective. They are both medium/low impact. Higher impact shotguns push forward overall kill distance. Edit 5: This thread contains more salt than the ocean itself. My farming session is going well.. [spoiler]It's obvious if you don't read the title.[/spoiler] Edit 6: For people that cannot grasp what I am saying above, how about another solution? Lower the range on higher impacts. Edit 7: Shot Package was removed. Time to remove the higher impacts, eh Bungie?

    SHOT PACKAGE REMOVED LOL After playing the patch, I've seen a lot of shotgunners get stopped because they can't snipe anymore.. Lmao

          Or they can just stop attempting at "improving" PvP -_- Hopes go high, we play the patch, faith goes down. Repeats itself 127 times. Shotgun Nerfs in Crucible? Heard of them, but never seen them though. Only thing that was actually noticeable was Shot Package and Rangefinder being removed as a combo(put into the same perk slot), back in October 2014.

              • GHOST 9o5- [b][/b]ITS REALLY SIMPLE, STOP GETTING UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH SOMEONE THAT HAS A SHOTGUN. If I see someone with shotgun I jump back and fire my pulse or scout rifle and clean them up quick. I think shotguns are weak and I rarely use them. EACH CLASS OF WEAPON HAS A PURPOSE, FIGURE OUT THE SITUATION FOR EACH AND NO NEED TO NERF/BUFF AS LONG AS THEY CONTINUE TO COUNTER BALANCE WEAPONS.

                    • listen if you get close you get shotgunned. learn the ranges and stay out of them. I like the current set up now. No more blink shotgunning and i like switching to shotgun in cqc.

                      • Quite agreed, shotguns are absolutely out of control since: A. The nerf wasn't terribly effective B. The nerf to hand cannons, especially last word-- shotguns biggest primary counter, leaves them out of check

                          Shotgun? What is this shotgun you speak of? There are only auto rifles, scout rifles, handcannons, sidearms, fusion, rocket launchers, machine guns, swords, snipers, and mid range snipers.

                          • The problem is not with the shotguns. The problem is MAP DESIGN. Damn near every map in PvP, save for a few, is geared towards close quarters combat. And what's a perfect gun for such combat? Shotguns. Introduce more varied maps that has more movement space than a closet and you'll fix the problem.

                            • I think leave shotguns also but buff the charge rate on fusion rifles and the range on side arms. Then all will be good

                                • I think the best way to solve the shotgun problem is not to get rid of shot package or rangefinder, but instead get rid of any middle tree perk that increases range. I think that this will cut back the range you shotguns enough that they can rebuff the two perks and shotguns can be fixed
