The Striker:
The Striker is just walking along when a cute girl comes up to him

The Striker wakes up early in the morning to make himself some breakfast. He puts some bread in the toaster and dozes off. The toast then pops up, scaring the Titan.
What does the Titan do?
He jolts up, and instinctively shoulder charges the toaster so it gets launched across the kitchen, through his wall, and into the street where it hits a Hunter in the head. The Hunter then goes back into his house, grumbling, to complain about the toaster. He turns on his computer and goes on the forums to ask for it to get nerfed.

1 ReplyMistake #1: attempting to stir up an intelligent debate on an Internet forum. In regards to your topic however, do whatever you want dude. It's a video game and you can do as you please. Helping people is fun but eventually wiping 25 times (lol) gets old. I feel that if, at this point, someone is unable to help themselves and watch a YouTube video, and then follow the given strategy, they are beyond my level of patience.

Everybody has the right to set entry requirements to there fire team at whatever they want and in my opinion that is fine but there are some exceptions. 1) if your light level is 290s and you ask for 300+ I will be leaving you as quickly as I joined. 2) if you ask for specific weapons like black spindle and touch of malice you are a douche. Not everybody has these and the raid was completed thousands of times before a single person got either of these, there are plenty of good alternatives. 3) if you aren't a very good player and are just looking for high levels to carry you then -blam!- you! 4) and finally if you keep shouting at people and acting like an elitist I will not be staying in your game and you do not deserve to complete he raid either. [b][u]Don't be an elitist. nobody cares![/u][/b]

1 ReplyDon't just stop at 300 light but also add a further requirement of max grimoire, if past posts about grimoire equating to skill on this forum are correct then you should land a team full of competent people.

Your allowed as long as you are flexible in the requirements so if a 299 wants to join and a 298 also wants to join you let them as in all likely hood by the time the raids over they will be 300+

If your the one running the raid it's your call. Personally I would give them a chance to prove they can do the raid. If they are become a burden then they get a boot.

I'm 100% positive there are better players at 295 than some of the 300's Just because someone is 300 doesn't mean they aren't a tool

If it's your fireteam, you have a right to decide who goes with you or not. If someone wants to complain about that and say that it's stupid, they have a right to that opinion, but at the end of the day, it's still just an opinion.

Pretty much why I don't LFG raid groups. I swear it feel like it just takes the fun away from it when you need to take it that seriously. The people I generally raid with always have a good time and we never exclude anyone out of the group because they are 290 instead of 300. Don't get me wrong, exclude whoever you want to from your groups. Hell exclude girls from your group if you can hold a conversation, I don't really care, it's not my group. But this is the reason so many people avoid LFG sites. I used to defend them saying it was easy to find a group, but honestly it's not. There is all these silly requirements, you need this emblem, this gun, this light level, must be this age, who knows what could get you kicked in a LFG made group. Not only that, but I hear all kinds of groups that kick randoms before they can get their loot. Most of the time it's just so they don't get the loot. You guys lose focus about what makes a raid fun and then you blame it on the players you got grouped up with. I can't blame you for making all these super strict requirements so you don't continue to fail. But you aren't failing because someone is bad or doesn't know what to do. You are losing because you can't work as a team and think that making sure everyone has the same shit will ensure you win. If you think that weapons and certain armor is what wins raids then you have it wrong. Anyways, rant over.

But... You don't even need 300+ for the raid... We just did it last week with 280's... It really isn't that hard as long as everyone knows the mechanics.

While some of what you say is true, I ran the raid up to oryx on my hunter last night and it was at 289. Now while at oryx, I will admit I wasn't doing the same dps as my friends that were 295-302 light levels, but I also wasn't dying as much as them either. With the right weapons, anyone that knows what they are doing can contribute just as much as you. Now you can say I'm full of it, or you can check the last games I played on my hunter to see for yourself. Most of my deaths were caused by a teammate rather than enemies. I also have a Titan at 303 so I've done it a couple times.

4 RepliesWait a minute.. so you're saying that you won't raid with people at that light level because they will hold you back, thus stop you from getting rewards, correct? Although that's fair to say, and I won't argue that, but wouldn't you like to help people, and help them get to 300 so they can do the raid more often, and help you more? Isn't your not helping them only pulling them back so they can't get the gear they need and, as you say "contribute as equally as you do"? Like I said, it's not WRONG to do that, it's just your personal preference and opinion. I'm a nice guy, so when I get to that high of level, I'll help as many people as I can so they can see the content they paid for. (As long as the content they want to see is pvp, because if then... yikes... )

I agree, I don't feel like having people weighing me down when I can just quickly do the raid with people of my skill/light. Today I did the raid in under an hour from start to finish.

That's nice and all that you prefer 300's on the days when time is tight. Me? I just wish I had any time at all to play. Day after TTK dropped I had to drive 12 hours. Then for most of a week I spent a large amount of time seeing friends and family since I was back in town, which left me little time for destiny, and then when I move the new motel I am staying at until a few days before Halloween, I am put in a room that I can't even pull internet access. So enjoy your game folks. Cause it's a privilege that you can even play it. That goes triple for all you "Bungie plz fix this or I quit!" Folks out there.

You can ask for whatever you want. And people can react to your requests however they like. You put up a post like this, you should expect to receive a ton of shit for it. Being over 300 means nothing when it comes to skill. I would think you would understand that after 1 year of Destiny. There were Crappy 32's in Crota and Crappy 34's all over the place after HoW. Why should TTK and 300 be any different? Derp.
