What class is the most likely to go crazy and turn against us, joining the darkness? Edit: It's awsome reading some of your theories.. It seems like warlocks will betray us.. Edit 2: Even warlocks agree that they will be the one betraying us.. kill them while we can

  • I dont know... i honestly would love to see some new "class/race" being tainted by darkness giving them all new abilities, bungie can go crazy with that having a gaurdian wield the darkness to fight the travlers enemies. How would they make it work? I dont know? It could even possibly be a new subclass for each one. Titans can have a type of "black hole" grenade that when exploded will hold enemies floating in mid air for a period of time? Their melee can consist of a devestating punch that completely blinds the enemy. Their super can be them maybe something like hammering their fists in the ground causeing black holes to appear, snatch enemies bring them all to arms length of the titan and then proceeding to explode out of darkness energy. Could have a perk that the aftermath slows, blinds, or poisons enemies. Warlocks could have a kind of like tendril attack melee that does poison or blinding damage, have some sort of grenade that blows up and covers the enemies in darkness causing blinding poison and slowed damage. I dont know sbout the super or the hunter.... ill leave it up to you guys to help me out!
Dredgen Yor is the only Guardian (that I'm aware of) that has actually become corrupt. Osiris studied the Vex, he didn't join the Darkness. The reason that he's missing is because he was exiled, because the Tower sees any power or knowledge related to the Darkness as frightening (see Pocket Infinity grimoire). The same with Toland, he was obsessed with the Hive, yes, but he was doing it to gain power. He made Bad Juju, a weapon based off of the Weapons of Sorrow. True, he was seeking the power of the Deathsinger, but we do not know for what purpose. His Light is not corrupted (that we know), and the reason that he's missing is that he's either still somewhere in the depths of Crota's domain or dead, or somewhere inbetween. He might be dead, but that doesn't mean he's finished, due to the lore revealed by Eris about the deaths of her comrades and Toland's commentary on the Liturgy of Death. Now, let's talk about Dredgen Yor. He didn't die, nor was he on the verge of death. The grimoire says that he died on that day, but that was a figurative death. He changed. He wasn't anywhere near to death, nor was he going into a fight to die. He was corrupted. He threw his Light away, it wasn't devoured. He then wielded Thorn, a weapon that used to be Rose. Thorn was a Weapon of Sorrow, and that's something that nobody can create. Toland came close, but he never threw his Light away to actually be responsible for the creation of one, he simply created Bad Juju based off of his studies. But Dredgen Yor was different, since he essentially sold his Light for Thorn, a Hive Weapon of Sorrow. If that's not Darkness, I don't know what is. Granted, Warlocks seek knowledge, but they do not wish to lose themselves to absolute insanity. Toland is only mostly insane. There's a difference between mostly insane and all insane. There's no coming back or forth from all insane, and what use is the compendium of knowledge that Warlocks seek if they are too mad to use it? Most knowledge accumulated by Toland and Osiris require a small bit of Darkness, since the very presence of Light creates shadows. They understand that, and look to the shadows for the hidden knowledge. Others refuse to acknowledge that such shadows exist, and seek to destroy the Darkness, plain and simple. Thus it is that Warlocks simply study the shadows (and maybe dwell in them, for a time). Pure Darkness cannot exist in the Light, since the very presence of Light casts away Darkness. Dwelling in the light and observing the shadows guarantees more results on the path for knowledge that dwelling in the Darkness and fleeing from Light. That is why Warlocks will resist being corrupted.
Try and go against this.
Credit to daPWNDAZ
• I chose warlock bc they are closest to the darkness bc of how they study it. But here is what want. I want to enter places in game and just like we may be doing missions and come across taken fallen, vex, etc, I want to fight taken guardians. It's logical that some would be killed. Also captured. Also some would be suceptAble to the darkness. If the taken wAnts to beat us, he would take us.

If Warlocks turned to the darkness, and learned some hive magic and such. I have no doubt we could kill everybody.

        • I say Hunters because they scout the area outside the walls so they'd be the most likely to be overwhelmed by enemies if they're solo. And considering the Ahamkara Spine and VoG helmet talks to the Hunter in the description I feel like Hunters use enemy parts as armour when possible. The amalgamation of darkness on light and the Hunters ability to use enemy tech would make them the most likely to want to use the darkness to their advantage. I.E. they stole the warming cloaking tech and replicated the Warlocks blink.

          • A warlock seeks true understanding, to completely wield and understand the light, like Osiris. It'll be like Star Wars episode 3 I think, with a small, powerful majority taking over, and slaughtering less powerful guardians in the tower, leaving the hunters scattered and the Titans without a city to defend

            • As a warlock main I think we would become the most corrupt. Even Ikora tells us Warlocks that we are strong because "we can slip in and out of the Light and Darkness, but staying with the Light proves us to be strong".

            • Either Warlocks studies will make them the most likely or the least likely. Depends if their studies tempt them or enforce there will not not join the darkness.

            • Warlocks for sure! They already seek the ability to harness the aggressive and dark corners of magical manipulation and seem to be the most "corruptible" Titans= to much a meat head. They would be the class least afraid of death and would view it as an honor in return for excellent service. Think Lt. Dan from Forrest Gump Hunters= These are your Top Gun, Born on the 4th of July, All American pretty boy hot shots. To full of their hype to even admit fear or doubt. Warlocks= Think Anakin Skywalker (yeah likely butchered that spelling). Already they demonstrate self doubt. They fear death enough that one of their primary abilities is to review their own life! They also sought the ability to master the void in an aggressive soul eating way and then the storm caller...the desire to harness the dark destructive powers of storms as they chain electrical area of effect damage. This class seems aware of their own mortality and also aware of the power of the dark forces around us. I can see a Warlock choosing their own best interest and seeking self preservation over death, and if the path to greater power is to switch over to the darkness then so be it!

              • Warlocks. Osiris got too close to the Vex, and Toland researched too much about the Hive. Knowledge can corrupt a person.

                • Warlocks, the pursuit for knowledge and understanding is a difficult path, stray off of it and you'll reach for a darker goal

                • Its my understanding that we are all users of the darkness, since void is nothingness and darkness is the absence of something (nothingness). So the real question is which class will be the first to actually join the light.

                    • While studying the darkness the warlocks will find ways to use it power to gain new abilities. Being new to harnessing the darkness will drive them mad and they will be consumed by it. With no light left inside them they will have no will if their own and will turn on the city and those they once fought with.

                    • Warlocks: Stare long enough into the void and.... Titans: Stares at void, sees nothing to punch. Goes elsewhere for something to punch. Hunters: Too busy backstabbing each other for a shot at Eris.
