Since this has been the standard rebuttal to people wanting some slight changes to the overturned Hammer of Sol, there were a few things I wanted to say:
1) The sentence in my title might sound witty, but is sadly off topic.
Neither does it follow any logic, nor is it an argument.
It's the thing you say when you have nothing else to say.
2) Especially hunters having had the strongest PvP classes overall, should know when something is over tuned.
When the Hunter mains start to complain that something is too strong, you know that we have a balancing problem.
It's like playing Counter Strike and AK 47 users complaining, that the new ZyX gun is too strong. They used one of the strongest guns in the game for years. They know what they talk about.
Edit:
Since a lot of people have trouble to understand this point as it was intended, I will add a little note.
Of note:
I am talking about what was the baseline for an OP super. I am not talking about what *should* be OP.
The baseline in Y1, even after several nerfs, of what is considered OP, were Hunter supers.
The new baseline for OP is the Hammer of Sol.
3) All supers have some forms of checks and balances.
Arcblade is mobile and does solid damage, yet it has no range. Golden Gun has the range, mediocre mobility, but 0 defense.
The Hammer of Sol however, has everything. It has very high damage output, very high defenses and adequate mobility.
Nothing balances it in the way other mobile supers are balanced.
4) A Titan main, telling a Hunter main, that his opinion is invalid concerning this subject, is pretty much the definition of irony.
Going down that route simply makes you look like a clown.
5) Luke Smith himself says that the damage resistance might be a bit too much and the he is over performing with the Sunbreaker, for a PvP player on his skill level.
(Kotaku Podcast, min 45-47)
6) Most people saying "git gud and learn to counter it" with their 1.01 KD (or worse) and other very mediocre stats, should stop thinking that they understand the game mechanics. These people are not on any level to give that kind of advice.
7) Cue the insults, call me whiny and tell me how I am a hunter main (even though I mained a Voidwalker for the PvP for quite some time before TTK hit the shelves).
Nothing of these things invalidate anything I said here.
Edit
Thanks to some great input, I want to add:
8) People going around and telling other users that they should simply stop whining, don't understand an integral part of this discussion:
This is not about personal grief, getting killed by a HoS user or anything else along the lines.
This is about the game's balance. And wanting a certain baseline that resembles what we call balance, has nothing to do with whining.
Edit 2:
Over 2000 posts, more than 100 upvotes and a lot of people staying rational and understanding what I wanted to say.
Thank you for the participation guys.
I definitely have more hope for the majority of this community, than I had before.
Keep the comments coming!

Says people with 1kds should stop acting like they understand the game Has 1.3kd ... lol
-
The only thing that needs to be toned down is armor.... a head shot with a high impact sniper should drop them that's my only complaint and really the only issue

I use hunter just to shut down u fgts

Edited by xKCz: 9/30/2015 4:23:49 PMThis whole 2 hammers per kill thing has got to be the WORST idea I've ever heard. Nerf it any other way you want, but don't do that because it makes it far too easy to beat. I don't understand how people can bitch about GG taking 2 shots kill (which they are quite right to), then advocate that should be the case for HoS. The hypocrisy is terrifying. If such a thing were to ever pass, I don't think I'd use the Sunbreaker class ever again. You'd be putting yourself at such a big dissadvantage, it would be foolish. Tldr - Nerfs are fine, but don't make it take 2 hammers to kill. It will be far 2 easy to counter.

5 RepliesEdited by GOAT Spartan: 9/29/2015 11:17:08 PMIf someone if complaining, and mains two hunters then thats where the argument is truly invalid. The reason why people are saying that is because most of the time, or close to all of the time, hunter players dont or barely ever touch their titan. Plus most of the people complaining suck at crucible to begin. And judging from your comment stating that hunters know best, your argument has instantly lost all credibility because your basically saying that hunters should be the OP class and bungie should listen to them more than anyone else. Nice double standard there dude. Oh, and nice going there with not having your main account linked to these forums. Too scared to show how horrible you really are? I have nothing to hide because all my characters have great stats in crucible. I guess you dont..... Hmmmm

Hunter bow is OP it stop everything titans got what they deserved now they don't have to be in kissing distance to get a kill now that we have range and can play squarely with other classes range they say we OP cus they can't handle the competition
-
I'm pretty sure if you look at most of the polls asking whether sunbreaker is OP or not almost all of them say it isn't OP.
-
4 RepliesSo basically what you're saying is. "I'm a hunter, my super(s) are OP and that is perfectly fine. If my OP super can't shut down your super then your super is unbalanced and needs an immediate nerf since I, a hunter, know a super is OP when I see it and hunter super(s) should be the only OP supers in the game/PvP." I don't even....
-
Agreed, sir. It is possible to have a meaningful discussion about legitimate balance issues without whining or poisoning the well.
-
I couldnt care less, im not about nerfing anything. But the titan super will get a nerf, theres too many posts about it, theres nothing you can do titans, your super wont stay the way it is for much longer, you'll see.
-
14 RepliesOk I'm originally mained a hunter. Then a warlock. Still a hunter. I hardly play on my Titan. Honestly I think that Titans need an OP super to use. Hunter has (arguable) 2 op supers. Warlocks have like nothing. I'm surprised they haven't complained.

Edited by Weeza: 9/30/2015 1:59:58 PMHave you seen this statistics that nightstalkers have more super kills than titans? Im not wondering why people think titans are not op i mean 7 hammers, health regen, highest defense and long duration against 3 shots which needs more aim, a shorter duration and lower defense and titans are unable to make more kills with sunbreaker wtf is wrong?xD this statistics just made my day i totally wreck with my titan and people who defend it for not beeing op just suck with it ^^
2) Especially hunters having had the strongest PvP classes overall, should know when something is over tuned. When the Hunter mains start to complain that something is too strong, you know that we have a balancing problem.
As someone in a movie once said... Mr. OP, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things i have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent statment were you even close to anything that could be considered a rathional thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

1 ReplyIf I hear that hammer I'm -blam!-ing running outta there. You can't beat it, you should be able to headshot all the supers with a high impact sniper ldr, 1000 yd stare etc. in my opinion.
-
4 RepliesYou hide your profile. Your opinion is invalid.
-
The thing is, people can't argue civilly.
-
I absolutely agree. I've played my share of PvP and as much as I think titans deserve a strong subclass, I wouldn't say to that exact PvP extent. I hit a sunbreaker titan in the face with a Nightstalker tether. I was then met with 12 hammers to the chest. (Hammer glitch)
-
3 RepliesWe should take the MW2 route and make everything op
-
3 RepliesHow about only people who have played all three classes and all subclasses opinions are valid. (P.S. one match doesn't count.)
-
And everyone saying things like "ok hunter" or "hunter scrub" are just proving OP's point
-
well written. i have a very good kd with my hunter main, and titan. and i can honestly say titans are overpowered in a way, plus with all the new maps being played more its more close range, encouraging more of the things people hate (shotguns) and titans tend to be more favored in these maps so yes, titans are over powered
-
1 ReplyArcblade has no range....
-
3 Replies"Since us hunters are OP and suddenly someone else is OP, then you know there's a problem" This is what you said. Play for fun, make your own Titan. Getting a few, at the most, deaths in 1 game is nothing to cry over. I'm sick of this nerf this nerf that. The game is almost perfect now. KEEP IT HOW IT IS.
-
I'm glad at least one other person here has at least an iota of sense. Not bitching or complaining, but stating a point and backing it like any civil person would
-
3 RepliesOk hunter

Thank you
