Bungie, its time to Nerf Shotguns into the ground.
YOU CANT BALANCE THEM SO MAKE THEM UNVIABLE UNTIL YOU CAN.
remove range finder, shot package and all buffs that inprove range.
cut the impact of the High impact model by 1/3
remove LitC and Final round and them half the Clips of every shotgun.
reduce reserve ammo by half
i want to play destiny were Shotguns are useless so for once we can see a varity of Special weapons.

Moron walks into a dude with a shotgun. Gets annihilated. "OMG, shotguns are OP, Bungie please nerf." They're shotguns. Get close to the barrel and you get blown away.

Um your idea's are a little extreme, but agree that they are still too damn good. I had high hopes after seeing a few of the shotguns in the game initially. Then I got a conspiracy D with shot package and small bore and laughed my ass off when I compared it to fellwinters and party crasher etc. It's actually better. GG bungie.

4 RepliesSo you nerf shotgun then everyone going to use snipers. You then complain about snipers so they nerf it. So everyone start using fusion guns. You going to want fusion guns nerfed. They nerf it and everyone start using side arms. You going complain about that too? Shotguns are meant for close combat and work the way they're suppose to.

Edited by Erijian: 9/28/2015 2:22:55 PMI wouldn't mind seeing Shotguns absolutely gutted in PvP and then watching as all of those players try to continue using a useless Special weapon class since they can't use a Sniper Rifle or even a Fusion Rifle well enough. That'd be a great day. In all seriousness, the Felwinter's archetype should receive the same treatment as the Hopscotch Pilgrim did. It just outclasses the other archetypes by way too big of a margin and is the only abuser of Shot Package/Rangefinder currently while things like Party Crasher were hit pretty hard by the nerf.

Shotguns will never go away as long as they are decent weapons on their own. The maps are too compact and there are too many ways to close the gap quickly. There are also few close range alternatives since fusion rifles were nerfed to obsolescence (dno why they keep doing this). Until they realise this, shotguns will continue to run as a special primary.
