Bungie, its time to Nerf Shotguns into the ground.
YOU CANT BALANCE THEM SO MAKE THEM UNVIABLE UNTIL YOU CAN.
remove range finder, shot package and all buffs that inprove range.
cut the impact of the High impact model by 1/3
remove LitC and Final round and them half the Clips of every shotgun.
reduce reserve ammo by half
i want to play destiny were Shotguns are useless so for once we can see a varity of Special weapons.

I would like to use the Ghallarhorn with unlimited ammo myself, fix the other problems with PVP first, like shooting a guy 3 times and he has no damage.

Or learn to use fusion rifles. Can actually take them out before they are in range now.

There has to come a point where bungie just stops nerfing based off the trend. If they nerf something to the point of it becoming useless then they may as well remove it from the game. Then another FotM will take over. The problem is not shotguns. It's that so many players became accustomed to using them. That's why you still see them so much. You should commend bungie for finally seeing they just can't force everyone to use a certain weapon. Shotguns will always be the most prominent special in crucible because of ease of use. If you want something to change, be the change. Remove that shotgun from your own inventory and start stomping people with a sidearm or fusion rifle. I know you can do it.

Shotguns are already nerfed into the ground pick up a sniper rifle, they're way better

Ohmahawd I got absolutely destroyed in crucible. Get better scrub. They nerf shotguns everyone's back to fusion rifles and then those are op again. Deal with it.

I've never complained about a single weapon, just died, picked myself up and kept going.....and I don't really enjoy PVP. But this kind of talk or suggestion is just wrong in my opinion. Edit - I just realized and from reading you do exactly what you are railing against. My original comment was to reason and express my opinion. Now that I know the truth about your stats etc., and at the least you sport a ToO avatar, I can see you are an elitist who just wants things your way. This is sad.

7 RepliesNo need to nerf, just reduce the potential for it to be used so rapidly and precisely. Sprint+slide+shotgun is unrealistic advantage considering you can't reduce distance as well and it is always a <1s TTK. The only problem with shotguns is that there really aren't ways to prevent it other than carrying one yourself and using it first. I personally think if you sprint+slide, you shouldn't be able to immediately shoot. Sliding should be used to avoid shots, not rapidly close and shoot. Just my $0.02.
