with this bliss of adventure thanks to the new raid and shiny gear i feel almost obligated to go on a rant.
“Say you buy a couch for 100. After a year the company you bought it from comes to your door and asks you 40 dollars extra for the couch and if you buy it you get a nice pillow. You say you don’t want to pay. They saw your couch in half and take one half with them... That’s how I feel about TTK so far.”
this gigantic slap to the face from bungie and activision to the players who did not decide to buy the dlc was just disgusting, dlc should offer an expansion and should not feel obligatory to all players. Those who did not buy the dlc are stuck behind a monstruos paywall denied of ALL the pve activities and left with 3-4 crucible modes only, and cant acquaire any gear because of the level cap of lvl 40.
NONE of the previous dlcs from bungie did that.
a huge dissapointment for me..
maybe i will buy ttk maybe not
love you all
EDIT:1 guys you can get a refund from amazon/xbox live because of the advertised tower vendors in the game not being avaiable to those who did not buy the dlc ^^

1 ReplyYou right it's so stupid, I stopped paying my electricity bill and now they took away my power! It's ridiculous!
-
3 RepliesToday for the first time in months I played Destiny. I don't have TTK and I'm not planning on getting it. I just wanted to see what had changed and play the Strikes that used to be PS exclusive. They were cool I guess, but not challenging because the highest lvl Strike without the TTK I can play is 20. The amount of locked content is ridiculous. I can't buy any Gear in the Tower and every daily and weekly activity is locked. Also I got a Dead Orbit rank and of course the bastard gave me a Sniper Rifle I cannot use because I'm not lvl 40. Sigh.

3 RepliesThat's like buying a car and being pissed you have to buy gas every week

The main reason I haven't got TTK is because I don't have gold and cannot afford to spend a hundred dollars right now. Normally I wouldn't really care but I am a bit salty about the fact that I can get Y2 exotics but can't use them.
-
6 RepliesIm sorry, but why play an MMO if you are unwilling to pay?
-
3 RepliesRead the terms of service, you'll be amazed at how much they can do with "your" game. It was also naive to think you can retain a premium-like experience as a non-paying player for year 2. I agree that the experience changes drastically, to the lowest possible bound only to what they are legally held to provide. Destiny is now a Demo for those who didn't buy TTK, very nice strategy if you ask me.

You can still play everything YOU paid for. Vault of Glass? Go ahead and play! Crota's End? Only if you BOUGHT The Dark Below as its content from that expansion. The whole Daily Heroic and Nightfall thing, that's not something you've ever paid for and obviously it's going to stay up to date with the expansions. Why would they keep it to where it would only be vanilla quests/strikes just because some people haven't bought any of the expansions?
-
Either buy it or move on to another game. All this was stated before. Not Bungies fault if you guys chose to not move forward. You want all new gear to play Y1 content because you feel entitled. That logic is just plain dumb!
-
If you want to do ENDGAME activities then you need to move forward with the endgame. No one cares, or feels sorry for you.

I bought TTK, but I whole-heartedly agree with this. Activision is a 13 year old -blam!-boy. Bungie doesn't have control over what happens in the game, they just contribute ideas, and only the ideas that Activision likes get put in the game. Bungie, in my opinion, is a great company. They just made the wrong partnership, and are getting hella flack for not being able to control every single decision that a completely separate company makes. It's not Bungie's fault that Activision has extremely -blam!-ed up business morals.

2 RepliesThat's how it should be, that's what's wrong with this generation. Everyone has a sense of entitlement. That's not how it works... If you enjoy playing destiny, go get a job, make some money, and buy the damn expansion. It's not complicated.

Worst analogy ever. You still have a couch, you just didn't buy the chair and now you're pissed because your neighbor can sit in his chair and you're stuck with your basic couch. So you decided to go to the couch stores website and write a post about how they denied your ass the comfy pleasures of a chair, because you didn't want to pay an extra $40. Now you have a bunch of couch fans and an equal number of couch haters trying to explain logic to you or how much they support you. This is creating a problem since you still hate that you don't have a chair, feel entitled to the chair and are now slandering the couch company. The support you're getting is inflating your sense of self worth and justifying your horribly silly way of thinking, so much so that you will likely spend the next few months making the same, if not similar posts to keep this going. At the end of the day, you're sitting on your couch, stretched out and super pissed that you still don't have a chair. To make matters worse, you went largely ignored by the company and anyone with half a brain. Your post eventually dies and you shell out $40 for a chair. Not the chair you wanted though, because you won't support people who don't support morons.

They didn't take anything from you. You have crucible, strikes. If you didn't buy TTK and do a nightfall your rewards wouldn't be great, you wouldn't get any new weapons. Why not just upgrade to Y2 so you can enjoy the new things. You chose not buy it. It's not Bungies fault you don't want to upgrade.
-
They aren't forcing you. You still get all your strikes, all your gear, all your PvP maps, and all your missions, from year one. They took literally nothing from you. Its more of, you're walking in a store, and you see an extra pack of pillows for the couch you own. You thinks its cool so you SPEND YOUR MONEY HOW YOU WANT AND NOT TELL PEOPLE WHAT TO DO.
-
How can you complain about something you don't have if you won't buy it? You aren't forced to pay for anything and there isn't a paywall. How the -blam!- do you dumbasses expect to have new shit without paying for new shit? There's no point of you having anything with level advantages if you can't do anything.
-
How can you complain about something you don't have if you won't buy it? I don't understand you dumb asses.. Smh.

lmfao all u lazy scrubs need to get a facking job lolololol

2 RepliesIt's an MMO game though... Not a couch...

Edited by chickengoujohn93: 9/26/2015 12:28:24 AMDestiny is one of those games where you have to pay to continue and be relevant. This has been the case on all MMOs on PC. Although Destiny is not an MMO, its the closest thing to it and is a genre which is only starting to take off on the console scene. Diablo III, Borderlands, ESO, Destiny and The Division are the only games of note to be MMO-like on consoles to date. Expect way more in the future. MMOs/MMO-like games have arrived on consoles and people console gamers will get more accustomed to them.
-
If you care about playing Destiny in any serious capacity you will buy the expansion. Expansions have been a thing since I could remember. I remember buying the first Diablo expansion because I really liked the game, wanted more, so paid for more. This is how this works, and now it's always worked for a lot of MMOs, RPGs, and MMO-style games. It's not a hard concept and there's nothing wrong with it either. If you don't care enough to move your character forward to buy the DLC, then don't whine that you can't play. It's obviously not something you care about that much. Which is fine, but stop getting butt hurt when everyone who cares about Destiny gets to move forward because they bought the DLC. Jesus.
-
No it more like you have had the couch for a year and treated it like crap and complained to the company and when that offer to fix it you complain about the price the service costs and decide to live with the broken frame and mustard stains.

1 ReplyOh look another "i want to play but not pay" retard. Gtfo

I love Destiny, so naturally I bought the TTK. Even the collector's edition. Again, because I love this game. Why wouldn't I keep paying for a game I enjoy and put over a thousand hours into? Doesn't make sense to me.
