In my humble opinion we see 6 different groups in this community. I could be completely off base but this is how i view this community. The Haters In general this group is very toxic and is the most frequent to appear. No matter what Bungie does they will tell us how bad the game sucks and that we shouldn't play it. Often times they do this even if they are still engaged in the game themselves. They are also the most frequent to troll and post things just to get a reaction. The Whiners This group continues to play the game but complain about nearly everything. They are often are the ones screaming for a nerf or a buff of some kind. They often complain that some things are to hard but will turn around and whine when Xur sells what they have or someone finds a way around mechanics for easy lot. They will also complain when they can't get something they want very badly. The community often refers to them as "snowflakes". The Fanboys This group can often times be toxic in the community as well. No matter how bad something is broken they will defend it until their last breath. They will defend glitches and "cheeses" to a fault. They criticize anyone that gives any opinion that doesn't support the game or Bungie. They are often times found in verbal wars with The Haters. Often times they don't realize they drown out good constructive criticism of the game. The Elitists These are The ones that refuse to help unless you have a certain weapon. They often criticize those with low grim score and those that can't find The help to complete tough quest. They make ridiculous demands of anyone seeking help. They are often blow hards that toot their own horn. Bragging about what they have and what they have accomplished. Often they are seeking attention and trying to promote their youtube or twitch account. They want you to envy them in every way. The Helpfuls These are The ones that come here looking for help and offering help. They often share lore and knowledge. They try to help those around them get better. You will see them write fan fiction or fake news posts to make us laugh. They are a fun loving group not affected by outside influence. These are also the ones that offer rational and constructive feedback and love the game for what it is and what it could be. The Silents These are the people that often scroll the forums for information yet remain in the shadows. They like the game for the most part and try to avoid toxic concentrations. Very often they will avoid the forums all together. This group is often in a good clan and has people to play with. They are satisfied with where the game is going and dont complain about much. At any point in time a player can jump from one faction to another and even back again. But this Its how i see this community. I could be way of base. I am not saying any of these groups is right or wrong in how they feel. We are all entitled to our opinions. Some are better at speaking their minds without creating conflict while others enjoy chaotic conversations. If i missed a group let me know. But i do think most people in the community fall in to one of these groups. I am not looking for hostility or hate. Just stating how i see things. There will be those that agree and those that dont.
