Which "Enemy" is Truly Evil?

Hive

7658

Fallen

140

Cabal

240

Vex

1898

Taken

1994

All of Them

937

I personally say that the Hive and the Taken are the two that actually seem evil. What is everyone's opinion? Edit 1: not a single vote on fallen or taken lol Edit 2: only 1% of the voters think the fallen are evil. Edit 3: y'all are blowing my iPod up lol Edit 4: Butthurt believes the Hive are the master race Edit 5: this poll was a mistake. Lol.

    • The Ahamkara. They corrupted the hive, and pretty much kickstarted all of the BS we have to deal with. I think The Nine are trying to resurrect them too, according to a different lore thread somewhere in the forums

      • None of them. The Fallen are a civilisation running for it's life. They kill and steal to survive. They seek the Traveller because once, it was their ally and they seek that alliance once again. Their fight is for their own existence and is therefore a moral one. The Cabal are an Empire fighting a war on multiple fronts. The fact that they have survived so far is a testament to their strength. Their fight is for their own existence and is therefore a moral one. The Vex desire survival above all other goals. They do not fight amongst themselves and they are dedicated and efficient servants of their cause. Their fight is for their own existence and is therefore a moral one. The Hive, spawn of the daughters of the Krill, fight their way across the universe in order to prove that none can best them. They fight each other to find and improve on their weaknesses, they fight others so that others have a valiant foe against which to struggle. A foe to inspire them to become strong and to become more able to survive. Their fight is for their own existence and to strengthen the existence of all reality, and is therefore a moral once. The Taken serve Oryx, who leads the Hive. They fight because they are compelled to do so. They have been stripped of their own will and are therefore stripped of moral responsibility. They are shades, puppets, shadows. The only morality that applies to them is that which applies to their master. His fight is for his own existence and to strengthen the existence of all reality, and is therefore a moral once. Applying the term "evil" to the enemies we face is not an easy thing to do. None of them behave in a way that is contrary to their own natural survival instincts as dictated by their senses and their perception of reality. For example - for the Hive, who do not perceive of death as permanent, and who evolved from a society in which cannibalism was common and normal, killing is not necessarily an "evil" act. If your sister is weak - the evil act is to leave your sister ignorant of her weakness, the loving act is to address the weakness with all your might so that your sister is no longer weak. If she dies in the process? Who cares right? The Hive have IRL respawn ability. Doesn't the same logic apply to your fellow Guardians in the crucible? You kill each other over and over in order to strengthen each other. Are Guardians in the Crucible evil?

Borderline Hive, it's not really them though, it's their worms. Vex used to be peaceful but Crota started shit and the Vex learned how to use the... Well. "Blade Logic" Fallen just do what they have to, but still have a rather violent culture. Vex just want to build their machines, if Crota didn't start shit with them, they could be peaceful builders. Cabal are running the -blam!- away from something. I could see an alliance with fallen and/or Cabal in the future.

I'm gonna say the cabal... Simply because looking through all the lore you find out that the hive were once humanoid beings that were tricked by the worms and over time became what they are now and serve the worms. the taken pretty much literally have no mind or control for themselves, the vex were once great architects who helped build and stabilise planets for sustaining life but were corrupted by something (let's say "the darkness" for now) and the fallen were once a race of great pride and it was because of the darkness that followed them, we for some reason either broke a truce or fought them straight off the bat for "territory" and "safety" and so therefore made them our enemies... The cabal on the other hand... I have no idea why they came to our solar system but if they blow up planets just for getting in the way then imma say they're the bad guys here...
the cabal also have no care for any kind of art or structure from other cultures and civilisations so that just makes them even worse...=p
[edit] spaced it all out to make it a bit easier to follow (^ν^)

                    • What if the Guardians are the evil ones? What if Bungie flips this ship around and as it turns out, we are all being played by the puppet masters, who would obviously be Xur, Master Rahool, and that blasted sweeping robot, to do the bidding of the Darkness, while the "ENEMIES" are in reality trying to stop US? *Inception sound*

                      • I wouldn't say any of them are necessarily evil. The hive would be closest to evil. Cabal are just a warrior race, plus I don't think we've learned enough of why they are here to say they are evil. Vex are still a mystery but nothing I've seen make them truly evil. Fallen aren't really evil, they have been reduced to a scavenger migrant race due to their history and apparent interaction with the traveller and according to the book of sorrows, the hive. If anything I see them just trying to reconnect with the traveller, look for answers, or, revenge for being abandoned.

                      • The fallen seem more like victims. Once honourable and proud, now reduced to scavengers. The Cabal are a bit 50/50, definitely not nice, but not actively trying to wipe us out. The vex are bad. The Hive are worse.
