Purchase the Legendary edition and play Taken King, it's absolutely fantastic!

That is why I'm asking haha, going to trade in my destiny and get the taken kind for 40$ with all the expansions it comes with. Just wondering what i should know

is leveling different? Do i need light to get to 30

Yeah it is different. Now you level up through experience level, not light, although light still determines your strength in battle, it's no longer tied to what base level you are.

Are there marks anymore? Or what are legendary marks ?

You vanguard and crucible marks have been turned into "commendations" which are consumables you can use to get tons of reputation. Like a free bounty completion for each one, except it give a lot more rep. There are now "Legendary Marks," which you can earn from questlines, daily heroics, weekly heroics, nightfalls, and dismantling legendary quality gear. There's still a cap at 200, except you can earn as many as you want per week. They're still used to purchase armor, weapons, etc. You can also use them to "infuse" more powerful gear with gear that you like more, by dismantling the more powerful piece of gear in return for a solid damage boost to the weapon/armor piece you infused.
