To all against Nolan North
He is a human being and all you guys do is bash him repeatedly calling him gay like he doesn't have feelings. I'm surprised to see the amount of public support cyber bullying has in this forum. It is truly despicable behavior and I am SO disappointed in the Destiny community. You were not satisfied insulting each other's weapons, subclasses and, tactics, as well as stats. NO. Now you have the nerve to insult someone who is working hard and doing his best to give you a good game. Desmond Miles and Nathan Drake... That is Nolan North he has created them from the script to life... It is disturbing to see your animosity toward such an amazing actor. Whether he is gay or not doesn't matter he deserves respect. There is no excuse for this level of rampant cyber bullying. Now I hope this thread trends because North not only deserves respect, he deserves someone in his corner. If you agree please help this post to trend. If you don't... I'm disgusted with the idea of being the same species as you.

Edit: The Ghosts are NOT robots. If that was your plan to discredit North Leave now. The Ghosts are the light of the Traveler.

4 RepliesHe specifically said in an interview that he didn't want to overstep his bounds in the vanilla act of his performance. In TTK he puts his own spin on the ghost and stops trying to sound like Dinklage.

Your ghost is supposed to be an AI that advises you and assists you on your fight against the darkness. Not act like a scared little boy trying to sound like his mom. Edit: at least Dinklage didn't sound like a coward when hearing something that worried him. He sounded flat and unsure of how your reaction would be.

He's got a quicker delivery then Peter Dinklage did, Dinklage was more slow and careful with this dialogue even though we came across a little wooden in his performance. North's slightly more energetic and I appreciate that. Gives the ghost a lighter feeling

I personally don't have a problem with North's voice as the Ghost, although a few of the lines that were changed to his voice do sound kinda weird. I think it's mainly because the lines for the Ghost in the original Destiny game were more focused on lending themselves to the way Peter Dinklage's voice sounds and the way he speaks. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the Ghost's lines in The Taken King will be written more in a way that allows North to give the Ghost more of a personality and really bring it to life, and then maybe people will like it a little more. Overall I don't mind his voice, in fact I think he brings more personality and life to the Ghost through some of the newer lines that he has in the patrol areas, some of them are just really funny. But that's just my opinion and everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

2 RepliesHonestly I don't mind him at all, if he were the original ghost there wouldn't be such an outcry to the change, he does a great job with a lot of enthusiasm to the job he was offered, I guarantee if he was the original ghost voice nobody would complain, it's the change that is getting everybody all butthurt, he does a great job, I'm grateful for the change and I'm looking forward to his new work in the ttk

I'm sure he's a great voice actor. I just feel like Bungie mixed his vocals wrong. They should have given him more of an artificial tone instead of one that's so energetic. It wouldn't be too difficult for them to change it now as the lines are all recorded. They only have to mix the recordings.

12 RepliesI am the individual responsible for the big trending post from a few days ago about how bad his performance was. I love his work and still believe he is an amazing voice actor. I disagree with personal attacks against him, especially those using homophobic slurs. But I will not sugar coat this one. This performance sucked and it sucked bad. Whether North is responsible for it is not known. I don't pretend to know what goes on at Bungie HQ. Love the game and not hating just to hate. But Dinklage was far better IMO.

6 RepliesBeing homophobic is not a premise for being banned. The comments aren't geared toward you, so don't be so butt hurt. (No pun intended) I for one don't like Nolan's voice acting. He sounds too preppy and high pitched all the time, which is why so E people might say he sounds "gay". Not because they're homophobic, but because they lack a better term to express just how gay his voice sounds.

I for one am not homophobic but you should be banned for entrapment. If you want to take up for someone or encourage them then write them an email or a letter because doing it here is not going to get you the right response 100% of the time. Look at the age group of people that play here...do you honestly think you would get the right responses all the time? Then quit being so naive, you want respect given good then give it yourself and some will give it back but on a forum don't expect your views to be everyone else's. Remember, contrary to what anyone believes YOU aren't owed anything, and what ever decisions you make in life if you don't know there are consequences for them then don't start whining when shit is not said just right in your little topic you made on an OPEN forum.
