Really Bungie? Are you that bad at your job?

5 RepliesIf this nerf is as bad in practice as it seems on paper, then it's going to make PVE infinitely grindier while also removing any PVE value the shotguns may have had. In a game with so few weapon types, why potentially nerf one into obsolescence? I'll need to reserve final judgment until the patch finishes and I can try out my weapons, but these choices seem so baffling to me. Nerf it in PVP if you need to, sure, but in PVE? Why?

1 ReplyDang, I love my universal remote...
-
They've been pushing us toward snipers since this game came out. This doesn't surprise me at all.
-
I think the goal here is to level the playing field with fusion rifles in PvE.
-
2 RepliesYah. That's what I was thinking too. On the Plus side, it looks like keeping 3 Plan C's (one for each character) and Praetorian Foil (upgraded to 365) was a good move on my part as the buff they got should make them a longer range alternative.

6 RepliesEdited by ParasoxX: 9/9/2015 4:45:22 PMI thought they finally did the damage a shotty should do in PVE. Gonna be devastated. PVP I don't really care. I always thought if you were too stupid to let a shot gunner get close to you you deserve to be one shot
-
shotguns and thorn are still the best in crucible.. COMFORTABLY.. just as i thought.. just LOL at anybody who expected different.. xD
-
2 RepliesGood. I hope this means we won't get shot from across the map by Felwinters Lie.
-
By shotgun you meant sniper rifle in crucible.
-
I really want to call you a bunch of cutns, but I will try hard to be constructive, can't you get the balance right you bunch .........nope it's not working ....bunch of cutns !!!
-
Thank God

Shotguns should be high risk high reward. If anything, reduce the range. Increase the risk and keep the reward high. Don't keep the risk the same and lower the reward. For close combat scenarios, we basically have two choices, shotguns or fusion rifles. If these two aren't balanced properly, the community is going to choose one over the other in PvE. Sidearms are a joke right now. We'll have to see in TTK if they're at all viable.

Let the auto-rifle gods return

3 RepliesI don't know how I will deal with the swordbearing Reaver Captians in 35 POE anymore. Maybe I just won't.
-
You people sure are great at making assumptions. Just got done burning down a boss pretty quick with one of my shotguns.
-
1 ReplyAbsolutely ridiculous. Shotguns were useless in pve pre-buff and it seems it will be that way again. Guess they want to force people to use fusions.

Edited by Ghost J34: 9/8/2015 9:08:01 PMUpdate 2.0 should have been named "The Great Nerf". Literally a huge patch filled with nerfs. I cringed at the shotgun PvE nerfs in particular.
-
I had some fun w/ shotguns
Lord of Wolves vs. any Major & above
= rekt
-
2 RepliesI thought they said 10% not 45% So they doubled it... just to almost cut it back in half?
-
about the time ...was actually easier/FASTER to kill Omnigul with Shotguns than with Gjallarhorns
-
3 RepliesI said the same thing dude. I never used them in PVE before the buff and now they are going back in the vault as they will be useless again.
-
High RoF shotguns won't be affected that much, i dont think.
-
Ohhh what, I heard it was hloing to be 10% damage nerf for pve, maybe it's the range causing the decrease in damage?
-
Edited by Maki: 9/8/2015 9:17:19 PMMakes invective and fourth horseman an actual exotic beast for pve now
-
99 percent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
