I let my 7 year old cousin play on my destiny account last night, he was having fun and trying to learn how to play I though it was funny and adorable to see his reactions.
But it didn't last this man on Xbox one his gammer tag is ************
Harassed my 7 year old cousin, I asked him to stop twice and told him he will be reported as well for what he said to my cousin. My cousin now never wants to play destiny again nor xbox because of what he said. This man not only said every curse in the book but asked him the N word several times as well. I want to know what you can do to get him out of destiny people who harass kids should not be playing this game. He was 7 learning and having fun I don't care if he died 20 times he was smiling laughing having a blast but he ended up quoting and crying because this man destroyed my cousins confidence and Love for the game. I have tried many times today to get him to play again but he says and I quote " I don't want to play destiny anymore no one is nice to me" is this what the destiny Community is now ? Telling children they are dumb n words and dumb *** and more awful awful words? Now yes I think it's fine adults to adult messing around with your friends hey everyone does it, I mean I don't have a filter when it's me and my buddies in a private lobby but I'm more responsible with kids in a lobby. That is awful that a small child now doesn't want to play this amazing game because someone assaulted him with fowl language I have photos of what this man said to him I reported to Microsoft as well but a message ban is not going to make him feel better. I need someone from bungie to help me here I don't know what to do at this point I personally though destiny was a nice community but for this to happen is not ok it's verbal assault and harassment. Can someone from bungie please tell me what I can do or contact me somehow ?
Of coarse I'll always play destiny it's basically the only thing I play (cough 2,300 hours) but what happened last night was not ok. You do not harass children and this an awful representation of what the destiny community stands for. We're all family and United against the darkness and we should be treated and talk with family members with respect. Ive Been wanting to post this don't know what else to say I'll leave it to the community to decide his fate
Edit - my cousin had no mic he started messaging him non stop
Edit 2 - ok clearly there's a few dumb people in here "how did you hear them without a mic" is popular well if you were literate you'd see I said he messaged him. Whatever is done xbox has contacted me and is getting a temporary ban. Yes I agree it's for mature people I agree 10 fold bc I'm an elite raider who's done crota in under 8 minutes with no one dying no cheeseing but sorry I let him play in trying to be a good cousin to him sorry that your not as nice as me but he asked to try it so I said yes so deal with the fact I let him play, I'm 20 myself but here's the difference u would not call a child a "n-----,a-- H---,C---- S-----, d----- b--- L-----, and many many more I don't see why everyone thinks it's ok to say that to a child and your just as bad for promoting that behavior, I'm 20 I'm an adult I talk differently to adults then children I don't spam little kids hate messages, I'm sorry you think I'm bad for trying to make my cousin happy, wow is this what America has come to people promote harassment of children this is pathetic you all are for saying "it's ok" "I agree with him" and "it's your fault for letting him play"

Did you not block after message 1? Guessing you responded. That's your problem.

You have summoned me! 1. Have you ever heard of a paragraph? I mean seriously?! 2. Oh boo hoo, some people aren't wanting entitled little brats, who earn participation trophies and are constantly coddled. 3. I do agree with that guy, and honestly at 20 you my friend are a moron. Simply because I don't care who you are, Online experiences are not rated. Thus, with any game a mature environment should be expect up to and including use of adult language. 4. You and people like you are a problem, putting little squeakers on the game and letting them have at it. If I found a 7 yr old on my team, I'd be pissed too. Should have had him stick with story missions and patrol. Technically speaking IT IS YOUR FAULT!

This game is rated T for T - which means 7 is definitely considered far too young to be playing it. T= 13 and over, and even then not all 13 year olds are mature enough. While I understand you didn't think you were doing anything bad, in reality you were exposing him to an environment that is not suitable for children, and is not expected to be child friendly, and have done him a disservice and caused him harm. Stop blaming everyone else. This was your fault, and your responsibility, and in reality not much different from taking a child into a bar, where adult language and child-inappropriate behavior should be expected. When the issue arose, YOU as the responsible adult should have TURNED OFF THE GAME immediately. Do him a real favor, and do not expose him to video games above his age limit.

Stand up for yourself, Block , report, and move on. Don't come crying. Good lord, they've really raised this younger generation to be soft.
-
Honestly I'm all for letting your kids cousins or what have you play, but keep them to a single player activity. Even I have to admit if I see a guy playing a strike with me and he's died 15+ times, I'm gonna be a bit mad. You can block communications if they're bothering you that much too. I'm just saying.

Edited by Megaman: 10/15/2015 11:54:33 AMQuestion... Can your 7 year old cousin even read and comprehend those words? I don't know of too many 7 year olds who can legitimately play a high demanding hand-eye coordination fps game (yes it is demanding on a body that isn't fully developed, how many kids that young have exceptional hand dexterity?), so I'm sure he was probably spinning in circles, -blam!-ing everything up for the other player(s) in the fireteam. One other question... If you were sitting next to your cousin to watch his reactions, why didn't you either A) block the guy after the first OR B) take the controller from your cousin and find a new game for him to play in without captain douche?

6 RepliesI let my 4 year old watch the film Saw. She's now really upset and won't watch the sequel. I'm outraged and have contacted the film company to complain.

17 RepliesEdited by l-Forty-Two-l: 10/15/2015 2:38:44 AMHow is this game inappropriate for a 7 year old, it has a lower rating then halo and that was my favourite game at that age the difference between that and this is this has less alien blood. Oh and pretty much anywhere else in the world other then America he'd be considered a adult (the 20 yo) in every aspect of the word. Why are you defending some dip shit who spams hate msges to anyone let alone a 7yo or is that just what the Xbox community is a bunch of unintelligible hate preachers??

Edited by XenoGenic: 10/15/2015 11:16:52 AMHere is the thing. Block the communications via your device settings. This is more of a parental thing rather than a destiny community thing, as the account holder, you should know better. The community can be unpredictable, even with strangers. It will be everywhere on every game. I'm sorry this has happened to him, please be aware of the ONLINE RESTRICTIONS next time to avoid this.
-
The man was a punk, but the online experience is unrated. He was mean, but maybe you should have supervised your cousin, so that if the messages came, you could block and report the guy.
-
6 RepliesI agree with the creator of the comment. If I had a child that age, I would let him play destiny. The game is rated T for suggestive content and very few curse words that are Dam and hello (minus the o I'm trying to type the words without bungie blaming it.) Yes there is shooting, but against aliens. That has been shown in kids shows. I think this game is completely appropriate for a child the age of 7. I clicked this forum post in hopes of seeing someone standing up for the bad part of our community, but no. This forum post was ruined because of all the comments that state, "the game is for 13 and up. It's your fault." For christ's sake! I bet more than half of you played COD before you were 17. Thank you to the person who made the forum post. You are a very brave player and I solute you for standing up against the injustice that happened. I just can't believe what I saw in the comments.

So let me get this right just to clarify... You let your 7 year old cousin play an online game, of which it's interactions are not rated nor controlled by ESRB that is rated teen, then proceed to report a player, who I can assume was stuck playing with your cousin on a strike because you were too stupid to let him play a single player mission, because he was "sending offensive messages"...? Yeah, sounds like you're definitely an internet hero!

Edited by Megaman: 10/15/2015 9:52:25 AMKeep on runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin runnin and runnin and runnin. See, I can do wall of text run ons that make people want to gouge their eyes out with a melon baller too. Only difference is I'm not the dumbass who let a7 year old play a teen rated fps with unrated online interactions and bitched about it when someone wrote messages to my account, who I chose to not ignore, but to read all the messages. Yeah, cousin of the century right there! Did you tell your aunt and uncle about this travesty too? I'm fairly certain they would think you're an idiot for allowing their 7 year old to play destiny.
-
17 RepliesThe game is rated T for teen. And if he kept dying and I was playing with him I would've been meaner. I got no patience for autism in this world.
-
Glad to see people letting underage kids getting online in public game modes and then complaining about it
-
Why the hell was your cousin reading your messages? Why the hell didn't you block the guy? OP is stupid.
-
1 ReplyApparently the concept don't answer the phone if you don't know who it is was not instilled into this child. If they sent one message and it was cruel, block communications. End of problem. Maybe you should monitor closer if you let your cousin play a teen game. Just my 2 cents.
-
Letting him play isn't being a nice cousin; it is irresponsible babysitting and you should re-evaluate your ability to be a positive influence
-
1 Replyis rater for T teenagers +15 years old persons.
-
Edited by TEC Crissspy: 10/14/2015 11:37:07 PMRated T for Teen. Online behavior is not rated. Know your content before allowing children into uncharted waters. Personal problem.
-
This isn't Bungie's problem but it is Microsoft's problem
-
People need to grow up
-
There are a lot of other countries besides America playing this game idiot
-
Wait... What's that on the console.... Could it be...... Now way....... A power button?...... Well no use for that in this situation I guess
-
Bro it's rated teen for a reason. Not rated E for everyone, like a 7 year old. It's common sense brother.
