I suggest people stop being afraid of guns. That's the problem. You should feel safe knowing the people around you have guns. But unfortunately, because this is not the case, nobody besides the psychos and the police have guns. Therefore you should fear guns, because the decent people who make up our communities think the lack of a gun is safer than having one. Ex: Your neighbor and the guy at the end of the street both keep guns readily available in their home. A man rolls into the neighborhood and threatens a woman at gunpoint outside. While you stand there gawking out the window and frozen with fear, neighbor joe and neighbor bob have their sights on fgt's chest and a clear line of sight. Bang. Nobody worth having around is dead.

But of course people must use this incident to further their political agenda. Disgusting. The author of that video unsettles me a bit anyway.

It's definitely not going to stop soon that I can see. Gun control might help some, but the main problem is that the media is so (imo) ignorant that they pretty much feed these types of things. Obviously this was the man's fault, but the media helps cause this to a small extent.

All the blacks go crazy when the guy shoots up the church and everyone calls it racist (obviously it was). This guy kills two white people and is mentally ill as well but they just wanna excuse any racism with he was mentally ill.

But seriously with all the racial tension we've had lately, this seems like the perfect time to stir things up. I feel like with this incident they can both push for a gun banning agenda, and fan the flames of the race issues.

We discussed this in philosophy class today during our coverage of absolutism vs. relativism. Interesting stuff. But it does confuse me. How could one see an event like this as [i]not[/i] being wrong? Of course, the argument could be that we aren't able to discern right from wrong in the grand scheme of things.

The media makes it look completely different than to the [b]real[/b] story. And think about it, mentally crooked idiots have been doing disgusting stuff like this for centuries. It's a bigger deal now though since everyone's got cameras everywhere, and the media can twist it into the next big scoop. This is why I never watch the news anymore.

Sheltering people from the truth so they don't have to think about or confront issues isn't their job. Seeing it is more real than saying 100 kids gased to death in Syria today, and now to Rob for the weather. [spoiler]also i saw his footage and it makes me lose even more faith in humanity. .. he was a tv reporter and he still shot the footage in portrait instead of landscape mode, thats just inexcusable.[/spoiler]
