9 hours. If you check my profile, you may see that Skolas is my only triumph left. Well I decided to tackle him today, my hunter being the only level 34. I managed to jump in with two friends during round 2. We made it to round 3 and then spent about 2 hours on it until both my partners had to go. So i found more 2 people, via destinylfg, who were pretty decent, both warlocks. We finally made it to Skolas about an hour and a half later. A few runs in, one of them leave and a Titan joins, named *redacted*. We fought Skolas for 5 and a half hours. Finally, i resolved to give up leadership of the fireteam in order to get more Heavy Ammo Synths. As soon as i left, *redacted* closed the fireteam and unfriended me. 9 hours of my life wasted to get screwed over by a terrible player. This dude kept getting stomped by Skolas and using Weapons wards before we were attacking Skolas. Oh yeah, did i mention lightswitch? For 5 and a half hours. So there goes my last triumph and i guess my hopes of becoming legend. Never Again.

Edited by xXJay747Xx: 8/24/2015 7:01:46 PMWith skolas it's just important to know the mechanics, at every quarter of his health another event happens, 75% he taints a guardian, 50% mines, 25% mines, it's also important to keep rotating I know it seems tedious but everytime you are better off dealing and thinning out add on the platform at the right side of the map as they can only jump up there giving you time to either run or kill them before they get up there, if you are feeling overwhelmed rotate before that lol, always run around the circle the only time you run middle is for mines. It's also important you only start dps on skolas when there is minimal adds, follow those steps and you will definatly complete it. That strategy works with whatever guns you want to use no Gally needed although the it makes the process faster Edit: oh and always make sure you pass the curse(tainting a guardian) at 8 seconds or lower and call out and start counting when you get to 10 seconds left if the who is supposed to take it does then die next to him so when your teammate rotates to pick you up he can revive both of you and take the curse from him at the appropriate time to start the rotation all over again

12 RepliesEdited by NIHNJAHMAHN: 8/24/2015 1:41:23 AMSkolas is easy.. all you need is -3 level 34s with a good rocket (not even gjallarhorn) -a good strategy. Note: it's easiest with 3 titans or 3 sunsinger warlocks with self rez. But it helps to have a hunter. Or all 3 hunters for mines.. .Run left. .Kill servitor .Lay into skolas until he gets close. Get out before he gets too close .rotate clockwise to the balcony on the other side .kill adds until there are no more to kill .kill servitor .hit skolas, when bonds break, stop. .kill adds, when it gets too heated, rotate clockwise and continue killing adds .when there are no more adds, hit skolas. .repeat until he's dead. Note: Move all together for mines, always, and pass essence before heading for mines. And pass essence at 10 seconds. If you know you're gonna die and you aren't immune, grab the essence and die with it (especially if you are a warlock with self rez) But it would be better not to die at all if avoidable. Reason?- you move together for mines to make it easier to pass essence. Or the recently immunized player can grab the 2nd mine, and meet up with the others in time to take essence back at the 3rd mine. If you're guaranteed to die, grab the essence, and die with it.. BECAUSE then it buys the team a good 15 or so seconds before essence is replaced on the battlefield. It's better than dying when you're next to grab the essence and killing 2 (you and the infected) of your team instead of just yourself.
Also, if anyone on XBOX ONE wants to run this at almost any time. Add me, my gamertag is NIHNJAHMAHN
Dude if you are ps4 add me... strifethefallen... i host for that very reason... skolas is my last thing to do... struggled with him last might myself... but i dont give up till i need to sleep... and even then ill hand off leadership. I have only booted a player on two occassions (same person btw) and he kept intentionally dying at crota. So add me my clan and i are laid back and joke the whole time... review a different approach and seldom give up.

If ur on xbox1 I'll run with u next week my gt is nebula5090 I've done skolas about 4-5 times my friend and I are good at it

-
1 ReplyWhat console? I'll carry you through it
-
That sucks..Hate you had to deal with wack players like that
-
1 ReplyHe might have thought that you just left them to be jerk (unless you told them you were gonna get some heavy synthesis)
-
3 RepliesIdk why they unfriendly you but when you get to skolas you can't join normally. The Fireteam has to wipe and you join while they're dead. If it's xbox one I know you can friend someone while they don't friend you so maybe he just never added you back. Seems more like a misunderstanding. Next time just use the destiny app to transfer items.

It isn't hard ahaha only takes about twenty minutes once you do it once it's easy

6 RepliesSkolas on a good day takes 45 minutes to an hour xD

It's so easy dude honestly. Takes me and two of my homies like 1:15

4 RepliesIt's not worth it. The rewards are shit for the time you put into it and the emblem isn't all that anyway.

If you're on ps4 we can try it after the reset Feel free to add me man
-
Did it in 45 min flat no wipes( the whole Poe), it just takes good communication
-
Just try again. Maybe try again when your titan or warlock is 34, as they're better with health and make it overall easier. Find good teammates and try to improve, so that you can rush through the first 5 rounds with ease, as it seemed like that part took you longer than it should have (No offense). As for Skolas, it's more of a battle of endurance. Just focus on staying alive while shooting him (The right side is great for this). Always make sure to take out the surrounding enemies first because they don't respawn again until Skolas loses a certain amount of health. What happened sucks, but it's no reason to completely give up. Level your characters a bit more, get better weapons and armour. When you're comfortable, give it another shot, it's really not that difficult if you have a decent team.

If you're on ps4 I can help you out man

Light switch is tough to deal with. Make sure you have all your stuff for invisibility it helps to revive others, move around unseen and disable mines. I'd suggest with only playing with 34s.
-
Fatebringer found verdict gjallarhorn. ROTATE ROTATE ROTATE. Never give up fire team leader EVER!!!!!
-
Any update? I see all of these wonderful guardians offering to help you.

Hunters are very squishy when it comes to Skolas. Especially with lightswitch. I'd much prefer another bubble titan or a res warlock on my team. Round three is arc cabal. 1)make sure everyone has an arc primary and secondary. You can use gally in the third slot if you have one or an arc rocket. 2) When round two starts, two players go to the bridge, and either a res warlock or bubble titan go to the far mine. You can get it from on the roof on top. All players aim at a door and rocket anything that comes out. The player on the roof tries to make sure the bridge and lower middle area are clear so the two bridge players can get those mines. The roof player can get the third one alone by popping a bubble if a titan and in trouble, or dropping down below and using res if need be if a warlock. Then rinse and repeat. 3)Once the two bridge players clear the two middle mines they go back to the hidey corner until the round is over. Mainly to stay alive if the player on the far mine dies. Sometimes if you're on that roof a centurion will come out the door above without warning and kill you. Sucks you got kicked though. That's some lame ass crap. Skolas isn't too bad. Hopefully you find a good team and get it knocked out.

5 RepliesTip 1: don't run Skolas with Lightswitch. Tip 2: get a competent team. Tip 3: get the best rocket launcher you can. Tip 4: clear the room of ads before attacking Skolas. Tip 5: determine an order of rotation to pass and take the Taint. Tip 6: stay calm, and if ever you feel overwhelmed hug the edge of the map and rotate to the other side as a team and repeat tip 4. Hope this helps, and since you're a Hunter when the flags pop up go invisible and capture the middle point if you don't have a Defender on your team.
