So with the launch of TTK, Bungie actually REMOVES 2 Raids and one Horde Mode? leaving us with only one end game activity?
since after the launch of TTK there is absolutely no incentive to run VoG or TDB or PoE anymore (even ToO and IB would be obsolete i guess since NO legendary will make it "over" to the year two) and that leaving the Player with just ONE raid as end game activity (and some patrol and some (quest-)bounties..)
would it not have been WAY better if they would have redesigned the VoG weapons to match tier 2 weapon stats and relaunched the Raids with maybe some BUGFIXING? (*hinthint*) and some cool new features? (add-ons.. bungie look that up if you dont know what it is..)
even if they would have taken some of the new TKK exotics and found a reason why they are now in those old raids ( *hint2* missing guardiand, Kabr, Toland, Eris as hintguver etc..) and actually put those new exotics and legendaries IN those old raids ? at the moment i dont even have a reason to run those raids with newbies that havent raided them before since if they get a fatebringer, wow, ! yeah scrap that.. *dismanteld* and then saying "BUT it USED to be the best weapon in game "..!
seriously, if you dont come up with a good solution to that mess, TTK will be burned out the week its out.. surely the new raid will (if its done properly) be more challenging than the old ones.. (you said that ,. not me ) but also those raids will be solved and the completion time will drop down to 1-2 hours max (Remember , Crota raid dropped down to 15 minutes so it was more like a speedrun..)
so pelase, bungie, go back to the drawing board and focus a bit on the Old end game activities, and dont make them completely obsolete.. and if you need ideas or tips, hell, even call me, i have plenty of them..
GO and don't let those old raids die out--

Radiant shards = 250 glimmer each when you trade them in at the speaker. I've started soloing crota every week purely so I can grow my bank I have in my vault, honestly it's the only use I see for doing Crota atm. Just a heads up before you declare all previous raids useless, remember materials gained from them are still valuable, and since both raids aren't all that difficult (and still wicked fun), why not run them purely for materials?

So...I take it you guys havnt taken the time to think that at some point the old raids will have an impossible mode that offers better equipment?

Of course there's gonna only be one end game activity, the clue is in the title "end game" and the vault of glass, Crota's End and the prison of elders will no longer be the highest level activity nor will they give the best rewards. Each new dlc that comes out does nothing but make the last couple of months you spent getting through 'end game activities' a complete waste of -blam!-ing time! Just look at this 'instant level 25' boost that newcomers will get upon purchasing TTK, all it does is allow them to skip the entire damn game so they can jump straight into TTK when everybody should have to go through the whole game like we did. We had no choice but to run vanilla story before we could tackle VoG, we had no choice but to run Crota's story before we got to hit his raid, we had no choice but to run HoW story before we were allowed into the prison of elders so why should every single noob get to walk past the entire game and waltz into TTK completely uneducated and unskilled?!

There has been some hinted VOG armour that has not been seen in game yet. Similar design to the current armour, but could be TTK worthy!

How do you know that they won't tweak the raid gear to not be obsolete? There's still a whole lot of stuff that bungie hasn't revealed.

3 RepliesIf anyone remembers there was actually two different sets of gear for both raids and we've only acquired one from each, who's to say they don't implement the other sets to keep them relevant along with updated raid weapons.

2 RepliesI'm fairly certain that VoG and CE will still drop some of the new exotics from TTK. So there is still some incentive to run the old raids.

Im thinking it will take a while before the new raid becomes pointless simply because it will probably take a while to find all of the parts for the sleeper simulant. But yeah it sucks that all of that is going to become obsolete not for year one players but yeat two players wont experience how great the vault of glass is because there wont be any incentive for it

3 RepliesUh, that doesn't mean they remove them. Those activities will still be there. Just because you in particular don't feel an incentive to run those things doesn't mean that others feel the same. Your logic is flawed.

I'll still run VoG and Crota. Some of my friends still need Vex and Crux. One of our team members is getting both DLCs with TK. He's never done Crota or POE or Trials. My clan on PS4 helps out people when we can. Either way we will still run everything.

I mean, it'd be cool if they made year 2 versions of the raids and Poe where they were somewhat different and you got year 2 rewards or a year 2 fatebringer with different perks, and you also have the option to do the old raids for the feels

18 RepliesPeople don't understand that everything we've done up to this point is still relevant. All of the activities to do now can still be done with all the gear we have obtained and will continue to obtain. Gjallarhorn will still reign supreme in all Year 1 activities, and all these weapons that we'll see as useless for Year 2 activities will still work just as well in Crucible.

The expansion isn't even out yet. Has it been set in stone that year 1 raids will be completely worthless? This is all speculation.
