Umm... Just about every Legendary i've ever loved will be obsolete come TTK?
Well, WTF happened to the Etheric Light idea?
I spent an entire actual, literal year building an arsenal perfectly tailored to the way i play. I chased, grinded hard and even fell in love with a few guns. Now the time spent building that arsenal has become pointless.
Many of you may say that you are bored with the guns you have and its good they are nerfing the old weapons. Well, don't put that on the whole community, man! Just put YOUR old guns down voluntarily and pick up some cool new ones for awhile! This way you could always come back to them later. This way you help everyone, by exercising some will power.
It just feels like i worked to build a house over time and now that its finished all the sudden the govt comes around and says "we are bulldozing this whole part of town in a month" And i'm like dude, won't that piss off the rest the the community? And as it seems the community is totally fine with having to rebuild what they have worked so hard to accomplish... Its crazy!
Is all my hard work for all those weapons going to amount to nothing in a handful of weeks?... Seriously?
Even most Exotics arent coming with us, i mean, holy shit!

I seriously won't even think about getting TTK if this is the case. Everybody loved the Etheric Light idea!([b]FOR WEAPONS[/b]) Why would Bungie scrap it? I mean, i was there pre-HoW, everyone was estatic to hear that ANY gun or armor piece could be maxed! We loved that.

Same, got a lot of great weapons and I was oke they are little less powerful but more and 100 damage diffrence is too much. Same with armor.

7 RepliesI totally agree with you. I hate to see my old weapons become useless. I hate it because I strictly remember that part of their advertisement for the game before release was that people are go to see you character and ask "where did you get that" or say " wow that guy has ----, that means he did ----- to get that". Which is now being completely restarted. Now that my weapons are useless from the vanilla game (again I should add). I have nothing to show off. You might say" aww now you're not a special little snowflake anymore". And it's true I'm not, but that's why I played this game. I played this game because I want to have things that make people stop and look. In HoW I have that and it's really cool. I just hate that they are taking that element which is really special to me, and completely resetting it. If I wanted to look like everyone else and not have anything to show for it, I would play Halo or the older Call of Duties.

Pretty much proves year one was an early access game we paid into. I suppose the good news is the community complaints drove them to finally create a leveling system that might work. Whether that same system sticks for year three and beyond is another story.

It should make you excited for new content. If the Legendaries you know and love now are gonna be useless compared to rare weapons from Taken King, the new guns are probably gonna be wife material.

TTK will be AWESOME for anyone new picking up the game. For everyone else it's a big ol slap to the face. Right now our collection of armor/weapons are the only thing that would take a hell of a lot of time to regrind for. It sounds like that collection will be more or less worthless.

I had fun grinding the game for those guns but I'm perfectly fine moving on. If you find having fun with a game a waste of your time because you can't use your old guns in new end game content then that sucks for you. You can still bring your weapons along on year 1 content and be fine.

I'm disappointed that our old legendary weapons won't ascend to the next level to. A hell of a lot of time went in to getting those VOG weapons and soon they will be a after thought compared to the new ones. I'd like to see a way to keep them relevant one way or another. I'd actually like to see the VOG level be raised and the weapons and armor with it. Yeah it'd make for more grinding but at least the bringer of fate would still be awesome.

They'll hardly be worthless off the bat. Those year 2 weapons are going to take some time to build up, so the current stuff will be viable for a while. And totally valid for year 1 activities that haven't been bumped to year 2 hard mode, I'm sure. It's not as drastic or dramatic as you think.

Its because they want people experimenting with weapons and armor, they dont want to be using fatebringer or black hammer through the entire story and the strikes and raids. They want you to try new things

4 RepliesIf you feel you wasted your time then...were you even having fun? I am fine with everything getting replaced. New experiences playing the game, new guns, new new new. I'm psyched personally. All that time I played before hand, I had a blast and I would do it all again. Well maybe not all of it, there were a few Crucible/Iron Banner matches that could go away.

If anything, I look forward to the new experience. And I will continue to play for the same reason I, and many others, have been playing for already: Fun. I sincerely hope this post is your farewell post, or at least the beginning of a break between you and Destiny, because you are playing for all the wrong reasons. I understand completely your desire to keep your old weapons, and honestly, I don't see why you shouldn't at least have the option. I Want to know this to as I just finished Maxing my FWC, Vanguard, VoG and just started on Crota. Now seeing as the gear is becoming a set Number now what does a 586 VoG Chest become? 190 as was Deejs Dead Orbit chest. I didn't look if his was maxed so in guessing here. Im just curious as to what Light level a fully Maxed Guardian will start at.
