He waited for her in the vehicle bay, standing arms folded talking to another man. As she approaches the man walks off and Pavel turns to face her.
"How did you sleep?"
English
-
"Not so well"
-
He nods. "Understandable in light of recent events, shall we?" He says gesturing towards the ops room.
-
she nods, and follows him there
-
Upon entering room, she sees the holoprojector that occupies the middle of the room surrounded by tables and chairs. The circular room would be filled with officers when there was an ongoing operation, but on this rare day of peace and quiet around the tower it was empty. He gestured to a chair and table and leaned against one adjacent. When kora entered he began. "So, you have no where to go in the city, so I can't in good conscience put you back. The question is what kind of skills do you have?"
-
"Im a decent shot, and I'm good with computers" she watches Kora enter, the battle hardened warrioeress shadowing the young soldier
-
He looks over at kora as she enters and then back to triss. "We have plenty of soldiers who can handle technology, Kozak and kora among them. How well do you stand out in a crowd?" He asks wheels turning.
-
"Not to well, why?" Kora's face hardens, as she leans over and whispers in his ear "She's a blank"
-
He nods, face only showing that he is in thought. "Have you ever had the feeling that you're remarkably unremarkable. That people forget you soon after they meet you?"
-
"Sometimes..." she this is to herself, why was he questioning her?
-
He nods, looking over at kora. He could only hope she was listening to his thoughts. She seems a likely candidate for the intelligence office, good with computers, able to move unnoticed. He looks back at the girl. "How inquisitive are you?"
-
"Very" Kora was keeping her silence, sizing the girl up
-
He looks down at the datapad on his wrist, types a few words onto it. Looking back up he wondered if she would try to find out what he had typed, if she did that would be the first test passed. He looked over at kora. "We'll speak later in my office." Looking back at triss, he stood up. "Well, I'll have to think about it, but you show promise."
So I'm thinking she can break into his office, find the datapad and read what is on it.
-
"And that is a good thing?" she eyes the data pad, wondering what he typed
kk
-
"Promise can only get you so far, skill is the real factor. It may take awhile, I trust you remember the way to your room?"
-
"I do, why?"
-
"Because it will be awhile, as I said, I've much to consider. I wanted to make sure you at least knew where your room was before I left."
-
"I do, don't worry"
-
He nodded at kora as he left. He would see if she were as skilled and inquisitive as he thought she was. He walked back to his office, taking a long and convoluted route there. Once inside he left the datapad on the table, and walked into another room.
-
minutes pass, as nothing is heard Eventually an alert appears on his data pad, someone was in his office
-
He smiled and waited to see who it was, he looked out from behind the oneway window, disguised as a mirror.
her?
-
she is seen, reading the data pad
yup
-
The datapad reads as follows. If you're reading this, you pass. He exits through the hidden door and stands at the back of the room, unnoticed until he speaks. "Well done."
-
she turned around to face hin "I had a feeling it was a test"
-
He chuckles. "Good, in the intelligence field always trust your instincts. You'll have a lot of time to hone your skills."
-
"So, do I get cookies and milk now?"
