Anyone else sick of 34s not knowing how to do vault of glass
It all started when TDB was released and vendor gear was better than vault gear. I feel with every expansion that comes out players get worse and worse at raids in particular vault of glass. Who thinks that most players won't even be able to beat the Oryx raid?
Edit 1 - I realize this post maybe confusing to some and that I do not want to help new players. What I should have said was that I am sick of people being 34 with decent grimoire lying about skill level. I'm not the best but generally I let someone know if I can't do something in a raid for example I can't run sword at crota.
Edit 2 - I am 282 light level currently for taken king is 300 the cap?
Edit 3 - So now that kings fall is out are some people having a hard time with underleveled players at Oryx, as in dps on Oryx?

According to their dudes research, like 20% of PS4 players finished a raid... This game is mostly played by casuals. That's the truth mang. I've never done a raid cuz no matchmaking, I'm a gamer, the game is quiet frankly a ways below my skill level, I'm not 100% all the time of course, but enough to solo nightfalls and do raid parts in my own and junk, but honestly I don't care enough for it. I'm sick of Bungie forcing a certain play style down my throat, I don't wanna group, my real life friends don't play games, I don't wanna waste my time with obnoxious Dudebros and squeaky children honestly. I get a couple hours to play games a night after work, and that's gonna decrease with kids and junk, Destiny has to compete for my attention basically. When I do play it, I get in, shoot some shit, and get out. The thing people don't seem to understand is that probably like 70-75% of Destiny's player base is the same way.

Not really. VoG isn't THE end game content anymore so platers that came with later expansions or just haven't tried it might not know the mechanics. But if they are saying they do when they don't that's a different story.

1 ReplyI just find it annoying how easy they made it to reach max level. It's a total crap shoot now when forming a fireteam. It's very common to recruit a max level player who can't seem to kill oracles in time. Seriously I don't even know how that's possible but I've seen it.

I'm new-ish. Started about a week or so before TTK. What would you suggest me do? I've raided in MMO's before; what about the mechanics here are so different that I need to be broken in here?

I guess at this stage, a lot of the experienced players don't need to run it. So aside from the handful that do it for fun, you have lots more that are doing it for the Triumphs emblem or Vex.

Lots of new players lately. Found VOG more difficult this week with the number of players (from LFG sites) who really don't know how to run it. New players are expected but if I post asking for experienced players, then you'd hope people would only join if they've run it before.

1 ReplyI've never really done them, raids were something we were waiting to do as a 6. At the minute, there's three 34's, a 16, and a 20something, and we're missing the sixth because Fifa and women. So we'll continue to wait, and I'll keep having dreams of strangling three of my friends.

Anyone can do anything in the game. The problem is you have the "elitist" crowd who think they can do it better than everyone else. Then, when someone tries to learn say relic, or sword they get derogatory comments or kicked. So most people just lie or wait for someone else to do. For example I was running Crota yesterday, we had a sword bearer. Needed one more person so dude joins, demands to be sword bearer so we told him we already had one and he can just help out. Well then he proceeds to follow the sword bearer down trying to get the sword first, 4 times, dying every single time. That's why people can't, or don't want to bother learning. Thank the try hard douchebags who think they are the best because their fictional number, in a fictional video game matter.

I don't know why people would lie, unless they've run into a lot of groups who won't take someone with less or no experience. Now I'm ok with the relic and sketchy with the sword, but I can do both. Except for Templar, I never got the opportunity to use the relic at Templar :/ At Aetheon, I'm fine. If people are unwilling to learn or are just bad at it, then you may want to think about replacing them unless you want to work with them. If we're talking about Atheon, everyone needs to have a basic understanding of the relic. In normal Crota put them on boomers, in hard mode they can shoot rockets. The majority of the players in Destiny have not had a chance to raid often if at all. Not every group wants to play Sherpa, I get that, but realize that there are roles for those with less experience in raids. Kicking an obstinate person is all good, but if someone genuinely wants to learn, help them out and there will be one less person who doesn't know how to do said raid.

After reading all the way... Why can't people just be truthful with their experience level? If you are truthful from the beginning, everybody should be able to get what they want/need without wasting people's time. I'm no expert, but I let people know that up front. Don't want to take me? Fine. No big deal.

2 RepliesWhat irritates me is when people are actually scared of picking up the relic or sword. Or after you've explained to them over and over again how it works. You're never going to learn until you just pick the son of a bitch up and die a few hundred times and get lost in time or get smashed by Crota.

I only did VoG a few times last year. Once my raid group bailed on this game I never tried running it with randoms. I ran Crota with randoms because it was the only way I'd see the new content. Of course that's when all the demanding requirements starting popping up on LFG. I recently went back to do VoG on hard and felt like a noob, people do it differently and it had been 8 months since I did it on normal. Honestly, people take it too seriously. Yeah, I needed a second to get my stuff together, I wasn't a liar. I agree with what you said about the armor being a waste though, it makes little sense. I think we should get a void set of armor from VoG, solar from Crota, arc from Skolas and the new raid, then upgrades and different perks in future raids.

i have the same issues but i teach peeps how to and we get through. now for the new raid we will all be noobs for a lil while at least. should be great fun. ahhhhh the joys of something new i cant wait.

i feel ya, ive been raiding since day 1 and whenever i want to do the vault of glass now i gotta go on LFG because none of my friends that i raid with want to do it. cause they all got lucky with RNG and got what they've wanted. i can not tell you how many times the group i joined did not know how to do even the simplest of things. apparently everyone is scared to run the relic and nobody knows "how" to. people take too long at the gatekeeper part and aren't even aware oracles spawn on top of the gates if they take too long. people can't kill ads with the relic inside mars/venus (whatever you want to call it) when fighting atheon. hardly anybody knows how to run the gorgon's labyrinth on hard, and im pretty sure every game either i had to run it solo and re-invite everyone after or someone else ran through it. this is why im excited for king's fall, cause my normal raid group all got the DLC already pre-ordered so i dont have to play with randoms for some time haha

The 34s that kill me are the ones who have to cheese a raid like the bridge in crota and when some people say lets do it the normal way and some people say how do you do the normal way....and i'm like seriously bruh....*facepalm*....ya saveing time to do something ya i see the point but you should know how to truely run a full raid without a cheese
