Im newer to the ps4 version of destiny, just got a titan up to 32 and have solar and arc rockets. Not new to destiny at all.
But with so many people complaining about being kicked because they either suck or dont have gally, would you rather an inexperienced player with a gally, or a very experienced player who hasnt been able to raid at all?
Edit: wow, the responses, holy crap. Some damn good guardians in here.
Edit 2, wow the responses are outstanding. Heres another question (this didnt happen to me as i havent had a chance to run crota yet)
Would you kick on hard crota? Now keep in mind crota can easily be 3 manned. Weve done it and only one person shoots gally. The other can have other duties.

Never.

People kick people from NF's for not having Gjallarhorn? Jesus.. That's truly pathetic. To answer your question, no. I would not kick you.

1 ReplyNo, I don't have a Gally and that haven't stopped me from completing any of the content that I've wanted to do. I believe that gally is a crutch and players become one dimensional when they use it.
-
Wouldn't kick you from the nightfall and I wouldn't kick you from Crota. I might encourage you to run normal a few times to get a feel for it because hard is unforgiving. But if we started a hard raid I wouldn't boot you unless you passed out drunk or something like that.

Edited by Spartan1732: 8/13/2015 1:23:23 PMNah you don't need it for anything. I got my first this week.
-
No... why ?
-
Why the hell would you get kicked from nightfall? Anyone who requests that must be pretty bad! Gally can make it go quicker but totally unnecessary. Solo that stuff all the time so would gladly take you through it.
-
No. Definetly not.

On Tuesday I posted to lfg that I was on my new character and to invite me if you don't care that the subclass isn't maxed. I got an invite faster than if I post that I have Gjallarhorn. There are good players out there that don't boot people because of load out. Weapons only become an issue if you are failing and your trying to problem solve

Edited by Aulakauss: 8/13/2015 1:09:34 PMI reserve the Banhammer for griefers and that guy that insists 'Only I ever run relic/sword.' Gods save that guy if I'm Fireteam leader. He'll be in orbit so fast he'll think the servers went down. ..But for not having a weapon? I once had a Lv25 Warlock lead the team and run the relic on Vault, all he had were Rares. We rocked Atheon's ass off under his guidance. I'll only turn ya down if you're trying to run Hard and you're severely underleveled.

Nf is easy, gally its not needed.
-
How could I kick you from a game I'm soloing?
-
I have gally and i would never kick someone who didn't or require someone to have it just to run raids or anything. People who do this and say you have to have gally or you will be kicked actually are just compensating for their own lack of skill and scrubiness everything in this game can be done without gally
-
1 ReplyI don't have a gally. And I've completed all the raid content up to skolas the bolas without it.
-
Nah I just like to game my man.
-
I wouldn't anyone who requires Gally aren't good if that's the only thing they depend on

Regularly do two man Nightfalls (just makes it easier if you have a medic in case) and twice this week we didn't bother using Gally. Contrary to what some people believe it is not always the best weapon to use. We regularly help friends with lower levels (and weapons) to complete it. As for Crota, with any Legendary being ascendable to 365, and it being easy to get to 34, you don't need it (yes it can make it easier but it is not a game changer). As you say there are other jobs to do, Boomer suppression and sword bearing being the obvious ones.

You can do nf with blues. It doesn't matter.
-
No, you don't need gally. You can solo it with fang or fatebringer and a good solar/arc sniper.
-
Either, who cares it's NF... I just need someone that can revive me if I die. Don't need you to do any actual killing I can do that
