Black hammer can't have infinite ammo... okay? Why can Bad juju?
Just unlocked string of curses on Bad Juju, with the stability bumped and the recent Pule Rifle Buff you have to TRY to run out of ammo in PVE with this thing, and odds are unless you're firing into the ground/air/water/wall you'll still fail a few times.
I know "But BH gets infinite ammo from scoring crits Bad Juju has to kill." true, but let's look at what Black Hammer is ost used on.
Sepiks Prime
Fallen Walker tanks
Archon priest
Cabal Tank
Those are without a doubt the MOST beneficial targets for the hammer, everything else tends to move around or only give you a short window to actually get a bead and open up.

I guess, like everyone has said, bad ju ju is an exotic weapon, whereas black hammer is not, and yet, it out performs an exotic sniper like ice breaker in certain situations. It would be cool if they came out with an exotic sniper in the future that is essentially the black hammer pre-nerf.

2 RepliesBecause.... Bad Juju is an exotic. The current white nail perk on Black Hammer is unique to that weapon and no other weapon has it. Also, Black Hammer is a beast at boss, bad juju is not. Try getting string of curses to work while you are fighting a boss, it is not going to happen. You said Bad Juju kills everything, how well does it fair against majors with shields? That is where it falls short. Almost all weapons can do well against normal red bar enemies, but a good weapon can tear apart a yellow bar that is your level or higher with ease. Bottom line: Bad juju is an exotic and is supposed to have an unique perk that separates it from the rest. But it is not over powered because it cant mowe down bosses which is where bungie wants the true challenge to be at. Black Hammer is a raid legendary that is extremely useful, it can be considered the Gjallarhorn of snipers because of the dps it can inflict on a boss that keeps getting stagger. Lets be honest, I am a Black Hammer fan and this is a well deserved nerf. I just wish when they thought of the concept it was a made an exotic because then it wouldn't be considered overpowered.

7 RepliesBad Juju doesn't have infinite ammo. I takes from your reserve without a reload animation. It FEELS like it's infinite because it holds so much reserve ammo that you'll pick up more ammo before you run out (using the most common ammo drop).

1 ReplyThe funny thing is come 2.0 and Taken King it won't matter since Black Hammer will be replaced with white and green snipers that will be more powerful 5 minutes into Taken King, at least per what Bungie is saying. Kind of funny now, half the legendary nerfs they are making in 2.0 won't matter, at least for PVE and I don't know of many people who were using White Nail in Crucible, lol.

You don't refill the magazine with Bad Juju without killing something, therefore you can't cheese a boss like Black Hammer can. Why can't people grasp this?

Simple answer one's a legendary and the other is an exotic

6 RepliesBecause Bad Juju does 621 damage from a single trigger pull to the head and only refills on a kill, whereas Black Hammer does 3474 damage from a single trigger pull and will keep refilling for as long as you don't miss.

Well its nearly impossible to run out of amo on a primary anyways, so all this does is remove the need to reload

Its because the bad juju is for mobs. Black hammer can kill [u]bosses[/u]. For example i never use black hammer for mobs, but i use it for bosses, and the reverse for bad juju

Bad Juju is an exotic for one, Black Hammer was performing like an exotic, better than both the exotic snipers and Bad Juju has to actually kill something. It's still going to be the only sniper that can fire 18 shots in a row without having to reload.
