Below is a summary of what PS users are getting exclusively. I don't understand the commercial reasons for this other than Sony has been co funding the project. it's so bloody annoying.
The Taken King will have time-limited exclusives for PlayStation platforms, which will last until late-2016. These include the new strike "The Echo Chamber", a new Crucible map "Sector 618", an exotic scout rifle ("The Jade Rabbit"), and a legendary gear set for each class: Hesperos (Titan), Azoth Bend (Warlock), and Neuroghast (Hunter)

Money which MS chose not to pay.
-
Microsoft was too poor to pay bungie money
-
I don't see where the confusion about it comes in. Sony paid a lot of money to have exclusive content created for the playstation. Microsoft didn't. It's really quite as simple as that.

2 RepliesSTFU with these whiny complaints. Be glad you can even play the game. I'd like to be able to play Halo and Forza, but I own a PS4. If it really bothered me I'd buy an XBone, not whine pointlessly and pitifully on some forum.
-
It's the O N L Y Thing that family box has that's exclusive.
-
I can't stand that map

Money. It's all about making a buck no matter which side players end up on. Look how long Thorn & shotguns have been a huge crutch in PVP yet not a damn thing is done about it. They already have our money so there's no rush to keep players happy. If they were told money would fill their pockets to balance the game right now we'd see update 2.0 ASAP.

5 RepliesEdited by NoctiSnipe: 8/12/2015 7:33:30 AMSince ps4 is more powerful than xo bungie offered to sony to lower the graphics to match the xo quality In exchange they (bungie) offered new content for ps4 I'll say also that graphics from the e3 2013 were the ps4 real time running game

Money, the gaming industry anymore is a giant cash grab.

Bungie: "No, Sony, we're not giving you exclusive stuff." Sony: *hands a wad of cash* Bungie: "On second thought, a sparrow with a flaming unicorn would look pretty sweet on a playstation..."
-
Well, there is money to consider. The other thing though is, installed/sold units. To my understanding, PS4 alone has outsold XB1 by a considerable amount. I would lean towards the higher overall numbers as well, especially current generation hardware.

$$$$&&

Bungie's rationale is sony gave them money for the exclusives and they took it.

4 RepliesCompanies pay money for exclusives in popular games to entice gamers into buying their system, to boost sales and increase revenue. Hell, the only other major game that did this was Call of Duty; if I remember right, it's exclusivity was a selling point for the Xbox One. Of course that is changing with the new game, but the idea still stands. And you know it works since a large number of people bought a PS4 to get the most out of Destiny from release, to now, and the year to come. It won't change either.
-
Sony pays for them.
-
They all look bad anyways, I'm perfectly fine waiting to get them, it's not that many exclusives anyways, just one gun, armor, and a strike, I personally think exclusives are stupid and neither console should have any but that's not in my control, so if we have to wait then might as well enjoy everything else like the old exclusives they had that we will be able to get now.
-
Sony paid them for the exclusivity. Money runs the world.

Its all about money my friend. When a company is making a game and when new consoles are coming out like at the end of the ,2013 ,(like when the Xb1 &PS4 came out) They look at only one thing. Who's going to make more money by selling more consoles. Most company's that make the games we like to play, all went with Sony. Going with Sony knowing their going to sell more consoles make more money then Microsoft . Now its time to talk about the "time- exclusives" and or contract, Sony just not going to let people make money off them + its in the contract they have to give Sony members more content. Easy as that Ill scratch your back giving you the opportunity to sell your game on my console, Which you all ready know will sell more the Microsoft and if you accept you scratch my back by give my member more content then the competitor.

The answer is simple - $$$ - Sony threw money at the screen, Bungie licked their boots.

1 ReplyMoney. The root of all evil. Well, besides racism.
