Why does everyone hate thorn?
I don't get it. I have seen it all over ye forums of everyone hating thorn and it is just so dumb. Some even say that you shouldn't use it and assume you have no skill if you use it. That is pathetic. If there is a gun in a game and it is good, why wouldn't I use it? Why would I ever use something worse than something else I have? And you act like it is the best gun in the game. There are plenty better and plenty counters to it. I hope you guys will be happy when update 2.0 comes out. What will you whine about then?
After getting bombarded with crap tell me something other than it being a crutch weapon and that people who use it have no skill. It's pathetic that just because you can't counter people who use you blame your deaths in it and call people out for sucking for using it please tell me something I haven't heard a million times

Too many scrubs depend on it. I only pull it out when it's used on me multiple times...then I teabag them every time I kill them with it.

I personally suck with the Thorn. I might shut down someone with it every now and then, but I feel like I am better with MIDA or Bad Juju for pvp.

I hate it because it is over used mostly its pretty op so I never use it but tlw is far more broken and need a serious nerf. I just want to see less thorns really and I want tlw destroyed

I hate sniping on Pantheon and having my aim thrown off by thorn (That is long scout range)

I don't like it, but I believe TLW is more OP than Thorn.

It has a ridiculous ttk. And can finish off its victim through bleed damage. Really though, bitching about the bleed kill you is one thing, but getting 3 hits to the head, you got outplayed. Not that the majority would understand that

Its seen as being cheap and i think it is cheap when you get shoot someone then walk away and they die plus it has bullshit range. Cant wait till it gets nerfed hopefuly its 100% unusable.

Because it can out range a scout rifle which are supposed to be the best ranged primaries.

You don't even have to finish the battle just tap tap tap then run away. And if you get a head shot you just have to pop them once then run away. It's just annoying when you're winning a gun battle but they can run away and let you burn to death. Plus you can't recharge your shield while getting burned so they can shoot once, duck out, recharge shields, then come back, all the while you're being slowly killed by the DOTs. It just gives the player wielding it too much of an advantage IMO.

Personally I'm not a great fan of Thorn because to me it feels like a rude gun (I know it sounds weird mmk). Like yeah, get shot 3 times in the body or twice in the head and I'll die from DoT, it's annoying but that's not what I dislike. I dislike say being shot 3 times in the body and the guy turning around and shooting someone else/going for Hammo/whatever because he knows I'm done for, I'm not worth finishing the job. I can understand hate towards many guns (I prefer TLW myself) but at least with those you have the decency to kill your opponent, it's almost like a matter of honour but I don't wanna go that far because I'm talking about a video game =/ To be honest, the same logic applies to any source of DoT for me (Incendiary Grenades, DoT Firebolts, etc...) but I think the issue is compounded by how often Thorn is used.

It's the fact that it's overpowered that I don't like. 2 head shots and without the ram you'll always die. That means it takes about .4 seconds to set you up to die from the burn. It's also all I'm seeing in the crucible and I'm tired of just seeing the same load outs every time.

First off I am good at the game, second... Soooo many players use the weapon because it is sooo OP!! That's why I don't like it. I do have it and it is easily the best primary exotic in pvp, so much so I thought it was too easy and no challenge. I stopped using it.

1 ReplyI wouldn't mind Thorn normally, but the severe over-popularity of it after the release of ToO is astounding. It's a cheap weapon and gets easy kills. I only hate it because of that reason. Now we're seeing it infecting regular Crucible and it's difficult to stay sane. Seriously, it has, what, 50% of players in Destiny using this thing normally? The next is TLW at something like 17%. It's stupid.

I love the people that are like its a 2 shot (yeah only if you get lucky and wait for the burn to kill the person) im not going to stop shooting if you not dead so I'm going to 3 shot you other wise it makes no sense to not shoot and let them shoot back just to wait for them to burn to death

I hate thorn not because it kills me but because the way it kills me. When I get killed by hawk moon or TLW or literally any other weapon, I know that I got outgunned. I got beat. Half the time with the Thorn, I kill the enemy or get away from them, only to be killed by that bullshit damage over time that there is no way to counter or stop. It wouldn't be so bad if it stopped if the user died. That would end those bullshit postmortem kills but still keep it effective while you are alive.

If someone knows how to use the last word then it's much better than thorn. Honestly thorn doesn't bother me too much. The last word is what gets under my skin
