Hammers, not scalpels
Relatable design harkening back to a lost era
Hakke is not about exciting form, it is about exciting function
A weapon's weapon
Hakke is the instrument of the people
Häkke is a weapons foundry of the City. Häkke weapons feature orthogonal designs and tan surfaces. Häkke weapons are simple, reliable, and a focus on offense. Perks are unlocked first, with stat modifiers as the last upgrades. Hakke weapons are typically named after a famous ruler or warrior followed by a letter (i.e. Galahad-E).
Sandbox Designer Jon Weisnewski:
Building reliable tools built for soldiers in the field, Hakke values simplicity over intricacy. Function over flair. Hakke weapons all start with a more tightly focused band of base stats that don’t spike as high or low as other weapon families, granting a solid foundation for growing the weapon. On a Hakke talent grid you’ll see a simplified set of scopes that work best for the weapon, front-loaded perk nodes, with the stat upgrade options occupying the final column. Hakke perk selection is focused on offensive actions and combat tactics. Hakke Pulse Rifles fire a burst of four rounds with damage adjusted to match the DPS of a three round burst, meaning the pulse rounds do less individually but are equal as a group. Fire time between bursts is slightly faster.
Function is a given; it must be given form
Design is honed, precision
Every curve, every line, every chamfer speaks to the Suros philosophy
Suros is elegance amidst brutality
SUROS is a weapon foundry of the City. SUROS gives Guardians the most stat-customization options of any weapon, making them flexible for all combat scenarios. SUROS weapons feature curved surfaces and sleek red-and-white designs. SUROS weapons always have SUROS in the name, followed by three letters and two numbers. (i.e. SUROS BNS-13)
Sandbox Designer Jon Weisnewski:
Some say the best weapon for a Guardian is the one they can customize to match their intent. Suros believes in options - weapons that can be repurposed for a variety of combat situations. Suros talent grids offer two columns of two stat perks, granting more options for changing weapon stats than any other foundry. The single behavior perk is grounded in the middle of the talent grid as a focus point for the weapon’s core potential. If you want a weapon that can flex from CQ to ranged, quick to powerful, fast handling to hard hitting all with the swap of a few nodes: SUROS.
Omolon is the future returned
Omolon is a weapon foundry of the City. Omolon is a pioneer of energy weapons, with an emphasis on good handling and behavioral perks over stat modification. Omolon weapons are black and feature experimental, ergonomic designs. Omolon weapons follow a naming scheme where an abyssal or cthonic entity is followed by the intitials of the weapon's class and a number (i.e. Acheron SR5).
Sandbox Designer Jon Weisnewski:
Pioneers of energy weaponry, Omolon is the first foundry to experiment beyond the world of combustion ballistics. Sporting lighter ergonomic frames, Omolon weapons all start with generous base handling stats to build from. Omolon talent grids focus on behavioral perks over stat customization. Legendary talent grids are the only weapons that offer three perks: one as the first non-scope upgrade and two as a binary choice in the final column. Perk selection favors perks that are energy based and/or go beyond the weapon to interact with the wielder’s abilities or status.

"If there is beauty in destruction, why not also in its delivery?" - Feizel Crux
Crux/Lomar is a weapons foundry of the City. Founded by weaponsmiths Feizel Crux and Victor Lomar, the foundry is the creator of the Gjallarhorn, Truth, and Dragon's Breath rocket launchers. Crux/Lomar rocket launchers follow a naming scheme a political figure is followed by two-letter alpha code and a number (i.e. Baron SA/2).

Daito may have been originally established during the Golden Age, as dilapidated billboards bearing the company logo can be found on the sides of buildings in The Buried City area of Freehold on Mars and in The Shattered Coast on Venus. Daito weapons follow a naming scheme where the name of a city is followed by LR and then a number (i.e. Saigon-LR5).
Nadir is a weapons foundry of the City. Nadir weapons follow a naming scheme of a scientific term followed by three-letter alpha code (i.e. Impuse ESc, Silvered Continuum MSC or Black Chasma ESc). Obviously not much is known other than there are crates labeled with their mark in the tower.
Tex Mechanica is a weapons foundry of the City. They seem to specialize in Hand Cannons.
Two Tex Mechanica employees attempted to bribe Lord Shaxx into fixing Crucible matches to make their weapons look good, but Shaxx threatened them with sending a squad of Titans into their factory at the suggestion. To smooth things out, they shipped him free weapons.
Tex Mehcanica weapon names are typically evocative of the Wild West, and denote a relative caliber (i.e. Primed Big Sky Mk. 48, The Last Word).
This inspection doesn’t cover the entire product line that Hakke, Omolon, and Suros have to offer. We’re holding back a number of armament categories for you to discover for yourself as the Taken War escalates. The models you’re looking at will seed a vast array of options you’ll use to equip your Guardian.
There will be more choices than ever to arm yourself in the Tower. Factions will have their own guns. Classes will have their own guns. More Quests will lead you directly to specific guns. Even the Gunsmith will have a new way to include you in his enterprise. We’ll inspect all of that as well before you earn the means to equip yourselves to meet a rising threat. ~Deej 7/23 Weekly update
1 ReplyPeople are reaaaaly trusting suros? Remember when the suros regime was the best and now it's shit.
-
Gonna go with Hakke. Much harder to break a hammer than it is to break a scalpel.
-
Hakke because whatever happens, that sniper is going to look amazing.
-
1 ReplyHakke because I like the non-futuristic designs. Otherwise, Tex Mechanica if they make something besides Hand Cannons.
-
5 RepliesEdited by LasagnaGuy: 8/8/2015 8:19:49 PMI need that Omolon sniper man, it has the same impact as my LDR and I almost use that sniper archetype exclusively so I'm gonna go with Omolon in my secondary slot. Gotta be able to bang off those revives! Any manufacturer in the primary slot
-
Am I the only one excited for Tex Mechanica considering they have a western theme to their weapons?...
-
I would go with any of the 'Big Three' (Suros, Omolon, Häkke) but if I had to choose one I would go with Häkke for the offensive play-style.

1 ReplyWhy would I trust a gun manufacturer with my life....???
-
Sun Tzu once said "Do not repeat the tactics that gain you one victory, but instead let your tactics be regulated by the infinite myriad of circumstances." It is with this philosophy in mind that I put my trust in Suros.

Omolon for potential, Häkke for reliability, and maybe some SUROS to fill in the stat gaps. Never wanna be caught in a corner with your space pants down ;)
