For those not caught up with TTK
From my understanding of the things theyve said,they won't allow upgrade paths for anything before ttk so all gear minus exotics cannot be used once the level cap is raised.
Messenger? Fate bringer ? Spear? Ash factory? Your raid armors? All useless since they refuse to let us upgrade them,forcing us to regrind all over again for the new gear.
You can either quit or forget about the gear you grinded hundreds of hours for.
I'm expecting this to be a yearly thing since the same bullshit mentality can be used about every piece of gear in the game . "WoW DOES IT SO BUNGIE CAN TOO" is the mind set these fan boys have.
They fail to -blam!-ing realize WoW isn't -blam!-ing destiny and destiny is not -blam!-ing WoW.
Its ridiculous they're making everything prior to ttk meaningless.
HEY GUYS! WOULDNT IT BE COOL IF WE BASICALLY DID A HARD RESET OF THE GAME,MAKING EVERYTHING YOUVE DONE POINTLESS AND ALL VANILLA CONTENT AND DLC CONTENT PRIOR TO TTK POINTLESS? WE WANT YOU TO FORGET ABOUT THE GAME WE MADE AND RESTART WITH THIS NEW EXPANSION.

It's one big -blam!- you to people who have stuck with the game and a -blam!- you to any new players. I wonder how they'd feel grinding through vanilla and dlc content to only be met with a wall when they jump into ttk,forcing them to quit or restart the grind and having to forget about everything they grinded for.
Vog? Pointless.
Vanilla game? Pointless.
Crotas end? Pointless.
House of wolves? Pointless.
Trials? Pointless
Everything before ttk? Pointless
Everything at the end of next year including ttk? Pointless.
Taking loot whoring out of a game that is built on collecting loot and increasing your armory makes the game pointless.
I want the gear we can obtain to be expanded upon,not limited and wall off everything pre-ttk to make us either leave or leave all pre-ttk gear behind.
Edit: Since a lot of people don't know how to read or understand paragraphs and sentences i'll spell it out here and address some posters statements:
I was looking forward to the dlc and planned on buying it until I heard all of my hard work in year one amounts to almost nothing.
My gripe is that walling off everything from vanilla+2 dlc's from being used in the future is ridiculous. I want the gear to be ADDED TO,not locked off and have the gear pool we're allowed to use from be decreased more and more at the end of the year due to bungie not adding in ways to upgrade gear.

Ok if you want to keep your gear, then bungie won't add any new gear. How about that? Get over yourself, the armor we have now looks stupid anyways

3 RepliesI some what agree. For me, I just want the choice. A lot of people on here say "you want to use the same weapons forever?!". No, but I would like the option. Wanting to keep old weapons and gear doesn't mean that's all I want to use. I'd just like to be able to use an old weapon down the road in new content and have it be relevant. That's all. If you argue that no one would use new weapons if we were allowed to use the old, that would be Bungies' problem, not the players.

as im a PVE mainly player as the crucible is the crappiest multiplayer I have layed my fingers on, im quite disappointed that the year one content is not going to be of any use in PVE. let the crucible players have their own game and drop any connection to the pve. as it stands already once there is a complaint about something stupid in pvp Weapon balancing and what not the PVE side is constantly getting destroyed due to whining lil bitches. with the PVE content , I mean whats the point of doing any of the previous raid with friends for any and all loot acquired to be completely useless, I like the appeal of the VOG and Crota armors and weapons, now they are just clothes to hang up for good. There is realy no reason for that. most if not all the people saying this is the way it should be, you are all quite retarded and need to stop sucking Bungievisions limp dick, ya not gonna get a rise out of them as they have no concept on how to make this game so stop enticing them to make more shit and think that's what the majority wants.

18 RepliesOk first, they didn't say screw you. Second, that stuff will still be used but the new legendaries are going to be more powerful, this is what they have been doing since day one. If you've been playing since day one you'd realize this and take the post down.

Did you have fun getting all you're favorite weapons? Well now you get the chance to do it again! Also, you can still use them in PvP, and older content such as VoG and CE. Lastly, their's no other way they could get you to let go... You'd still be using the [i]same freaking weapons[/i], [i]12+ months[/i] after launch! And, I mean, I'm just going out on a limb here, but, I don't, think that's what they intended... Just a thought.

You absolutely can still use your weapons after TTK launches, just not for long. You're going to start at the same level you are, not 20, not 0, and your weapons will be just as useful then as they are today. Also, in case you didn't notice up until now, the game has always been about grinding...
