LEAKED!!! Prologue and first Taken King Mission
The quality isn't great however but here is the prologue and the first taken king mission from Gamescom. The intro is in German but the fun starts at 1:20

3 RepliesThe missions still look short as hell, now the exposition though looks promising. Will we see the same throughout the whole campaign though? That remains to be seen...I'll wait for reviews.

1 ReplyFrom this video it shows that Bungie is making improvements. Now adding lipstick to a pig isn't going to make it beautiful. However, the things they implemented into this mission already make it better than the vanilla story. The fact that we see our enemies (Cabal) and feel bad for them is something I have never experienced throughout my playtime of Destiny. Just by this clip alone, I see more interaction between characters and actual emotional attachment. That is the major issue with Destiny's story. We don't know why we are doing what we are doing so it just becomes about grinding. When we kill a boss it should actually show us celebrating and explain how that helps in our battles versus our enemies. Not just some boring dialogue that says how important that enemy was. This doesn't mean the DLC will be worth it though. People in this community need to have cautious optimism. The foundations of this game are great, it is just the execution by Bungie that is frustrating. Also, he said it was sneak peek at the first mission so I assume there will be more enemies, or another battle at the end.

4 RepliesLol. People full on judging an expansion based off a half screen, grainy video shot from across the room on an iPhone played by someone at bungie who was clearly playing it all at half pace to let the audience absorb everything. Face. Palm.

Looks pretty cool. Reminds me a bit of the first Halo mission of Halo CE. A lot of scripted events but still cool.

30 RepliesWell. That confirms my fears. The Taken King is doing nothing to fix the missions and how short they were. I realize this was a prologue, but even for that, it was stupid short. Hopefully the other missions are much MUCH longer than this. Otherwise it looks like we have a The Dark Below situation on our hands. The narration by Zavala was a nice touch though, I'll give them that.
