The odds of all 3 of those criteria coming together against good players is slim, but I've had quite a few instances where noobs run straight at me, shotgun out, only to be mowed down by LoW before they an get within range to kill me. In most cases, you won't find yourself in those circumstances, which is why most players prefer other shotguns. I typically run with Matador or a sniper for Trials, but close quarters maps like Thieves Den I usually roll with LoW in normal crucible and I've improved my game a bit with it.
