Well im happy because we dont have to keep dragging these weapons along
Its time to move on
EDIT 1.) What if bungie allowed us to bring at least one weapon of any sort and upgrade it?
it should be like an Etheric light or something and you can upgrade it into year 2s maximum damage
EDIT 2.) MORE INFO https://twitter.com/DestinyNews_net/status/628608141698146304

4 RepliesEdited by ALeadFarmnMofo: 8/4/2015 7:21:38 PMThis is a great way to implement a trading system now, and the only way to make new players relevant. Also you will now see matchmaking for raids most likely. I really do feel like day 1 players made the game we are about to get in sept, and I feel like we aren't getting treated properly. I'm not against the changes I'm for it but do feel let down a little. The game clearly wasn't ready for launch a year ago and they should of waited, but greed and fear of missing a window is what happened. Now a year later we start to get the game they intended to make. I don't believe they like day 1 players, and use this forum as a gauge to monitor the community and to psychologically evaluate the core players so they can build their community vision. I've posted several comments and threads that never appear in the forums. Asking serious questions, thus leading me to believe this and most of these forums are manipulated. Just my opinion based on the info and what a full year involved in this game has shown. I do believe alot of these forum posters are plants, same way Facebook posts random comments and sells the psych evaluations based on our awnsers

I don't care if its not upgradable. Since I mainly play crucible. Will I be able to at least keep them?

5 RepliesWhy can't we just just keep our stuff?? Make these earned weapons unique? So that we can say in year three; yes I got this in year one??! That would be an awesome move... But not gonna happen probably like always...
-
So why nerf Gjallarhorn/Icebreaker/BlackHammer if their gonna die out anyway due to a power disadvantage?

7 RepliesJust cemented it for me. I'm out.

Edited by AceOfCaydes: 8/4/2015 7:30:47 PMThe only way I'm good with a fresh reset is if moving forward I have more control over the exact perks my weapons get. No more random rerolls. No more mindless grinding. Ugh.

Having played numerous MMOs, I'm mentally prepared for the need to upgrade and leave behind gear that I've had the joy (or sorrow) of obtaining over the past year. This news is not a deal breaker.

2 RepliesEdited by DarKArch3typ3: 8/4/2015 7:15:05 PMThere is no progression in the game. If you look at other games that drop new weapons, those new weapons always become op for old content. New weapons released are supposed to make old content easier but new content should be more difficult. The problem with Destiny is that it tries to bring old content up to speed while providing new lacklustre weapons and armor. The problem is that people really do like the feel of the older weapons better. I was on a few months hiatus and decided to get back into the game. One thing I noticed is that all the new weapons suck. They suck hard. I've tried multiple auto rifles, hand cannons, pulse rifles were ok, sniper rifles mostly suck and scout rifles had some potential. The new content does not have any great feeling weapons. So everyone who has to ditch older weapons are forced to use weapons with no real creativity. All the weapons from the picture look like something out of call of duty. They don't look hightech. They don't look like they are fun to use. So I guess it is a good thing they are getting rid of the older gear, but what are they releasing? More dumb perks? Ie. More damage to shanks? Or will they be cool perks that will make people drop the old gear for new? That's my biggest beef with Bungie. They want you to use new gear but all the new gear suck. Dev: Hey buddy, here's a nice shiny garbage bag that will protect you from the rain. Me: what about bullets? Will it stop those? Dev: if you turn this way you can see how shiny it gets.

I'm still gonna keep my favorite legendaries Damage doesn't matter in pvp
-
That sucks. I mean I don't mind new gear, but that just shrinks the pool of usable gear by making the old stuff useless. And we all know there's not going to be anything in the upcoming expansions worth note
-
Why would they bother to nerf the black hammer if this were the case?

So Thorn will never leave?! -.-

1 ReplyEven if old weapons are not going to be upgradable i'd still like to keep what ive aquired. I think the bigger problem is vault space, i havnt even been able to hang on to hardly any house of wolves weapons b/c of lack space.
NOLAN NORTH AS GHOST??
Coo....ahem. HELL YEAH!!! I love this new update. I hated the light level system. And I expected this to happen. Ascension and reforging together was a bad idea. Ascension was bad, it messed up the qualities of weapons. Why do PoE 35 if you can have a 365 Fatebringer rather than a 365 Six Dreg Pride? Reforging is also bad. Get a weapon of your preferred achetype (High RoF scout, Low impact Fusion etc.) and be able to (effectively) select what perks you want? As you can see from crucible, Felwinters etc run rampant! I expected an overhawl and I expected our weapons to become obsolete further down the line. Destiny has an identity crisis. It doesnt want to be an MMORPG, but majority of its properties suggest that it is an MMORPG. It may not be massive, but with looting, raiding, and a proper level progression system, it suggests that Destiny was meant to be something else, but it currently fits nicely in the MMORPG shoes.

1 ReplyEdited by AceOfCaydes: 8/4/2015 6:54:07 PMWell, guess I can stop grinding for a Ghally and Fatebringer... :-/ Could just stop until 2.0 drops I guess.
-
not a new thing. bungie wanna be sure everyone actually playing destiny will buy TTK so this is the easiest way. frankly it was so sadly predictable :/

New year new weapons get over it.
