I can always get one but just wanted to know if you needed it for raids or would get kicked if you didn't have one
Thanks for all the feedback everyone!

I've never used a mic to raid and did just fine
-
Sure. Just communicate in pointing, dancing. Pointing then dancing would mean "need some help here" Dancing and dancing again would mean "I'm doing fine, I'm all good" ~TheGreatNike
-
If you know what you're doing and can hear us communicate through your TV then fine but when playing w/someone who doesn't have a mic and literally sucks at raids can be pretty tiresome.
-
I'm deaf so i can't wear a Mic. I tell the team my situation and include that I'm experienced . I also throw in that I'm a relic holder or ill pop a bubble on the right platform in Crotas end . So they usually don't kick me . I have patience with them and vice versa so its not impossible for me to do raids without a mic.
-
I used to run without a mic and I've let others. Raids aren't difficult if everyone is coordinated

Edited by Thr3e2wenty8: 7/30/2015 8:54:05 PMSure. Here's some perspective to anyone who is totally against it. No doubt you've had crying babies, lip smacking, food crunching, tv in the background of that guy on mic who never ever talks. You only NEED A) a mic if you have something to say. Otherwise mute it please. And B) volume up on your tv so you can hear the people with mics calling stuff out. (Don't have a mic? Don't expect us to hear you then) Now.. If you are a first time raider or you are raiding with a new group realize that different groups have different strats. SO if you aren't able to tell someone you are new or you aren't sure what do do at this point..the teams is going to find out anyway and depending how forgiving they are - possibly boot you. No loot for you. Something to think about.
-
If you don't know what you're doing you'll probably be kicked. If you can't get a mic, ask people on the forums to teach you what to do. If they're there to help you learn and you do as they say, they may not need you to talk.
-
If you're a raid virgin looking to get your cherry popped then yes you need a Mic. While Croata`s end may be soloable by accident, both raids were designed with teamwork and communication in mind, not bringing a Mic to the party will only frustrate and annoy your teammates.
-
If I know they are experienced and know what they are doing, yes. If they don't know what to do, then no.
-
Depends on the individual to be honest. I have some friends on my list who don't have a mic, and one is a awesome sword bearer for Crota. As long as you are able to listen, and follow instructions, mics are not a necessity. I've raided with others with no mics, and as long as they can hear people, you'll do fine.
-
Yes but if he/she didn't keep up and caused gorgon wipes/Atheon wipes 3 times I would boot cause I can't communicate with him/her.
-
I wouldn't kick anyone for not havinv mic. But there is loads of knobs that would
-
Sure. I'be run plenty of raids with at least 2 micless chaps, and everything went fine. I only have two conditions. 1) Always be listening. You can't talk back, but you can listen. Turn your speakers up, so everyone can communicate with you. 2) Know the content. You don't need to be a master of the content, but you need to know the lay of the land as well as the various strategies people employ since not everyone plays the same way. Hop on YouTube and research tips and tricks and watch people who actually spend more than 20 minutes running through because you need to understand what happens when your team isn't super experiences and can't pull off 20 minutes runs. As long as these two conditions are met, it shouldn't be an issue if you can't talk because you'll know how to play it through normally, and you'll be able to change your style accordingly if somebody comes up with a plan of action.

Experienced yes, first timers no. You have to explain everything to first timers and make sure they get it, thus be able to reply. If you know what to do, no communication is needed
-
If he knew what he was doing, yes. Ive been in raids a lot where the party stopped working and we had to beat it with no mics.
-
If they can hear us yes, it usually works better when nobody gets side tracked in conversation. Just have them dance on Mars, and Point at Venus.
-
-
Usually, yeah.
-
I did my first vog run without a mic, I just listened to two people that were talking and we did just fine.
-
2 RepliesIf they know what they are doing in Vault sure. But if they're running sword in Crota, no. Communication and timing is key. Mics are pretty important. Even with relic running
-
Of course, I prefer non talkers. Most people who talk are ignorant and try to do everything their way. If you Really know what you're doing you shouldn't have to talk. If you are on XB1 I can help you out
-
If they have experience then yes
-
Well if said person can listen if they don't know what they're doing or know what they're doing then idc. I don't really run raids anymore though
-
2 RepliesEdited by Elitespear: 7/30/2015 8:14:12 PMI prefer someone without a mic. Talkers piss me off. You don't need to talk when you know what you're doing

I just did last night, we beat hard Crota
