Being Pro-choice is the only logical stance

Think about it. Pro-lifers base their opinions on their emotions, and not on facts, which, in today's society, just isn't reasonable. All they care about is that the "baby" is born, but they don't give a damn how that affects the mother, the child, and the population of earth. Not to mention that the clump of cells isn't even a child, but because they think with their emotions, they don't realize this. Pro-choicers, on the other hand, think with logic and facts. We understand that women should legally be allowed to have control over their own bodies, that a clump of cells simply is not a human being, and that if abortions are rendered illegal, mothers will just get them done in less-safe, unlicensed clinics, putting their lives in danger. We understand that having, raising, and potentially putting a child up for adoption is very difficult, both for the mother, and the child. We pro-choicers use our logic, and base our opinions on fact. Thus, being pro-choice is the only logical route to follow.

Pro-life is based on the fact that it has been indisputably, scientifically proven that the baby inside the womb is a human being, and thus the stance has nothing to do with emotion, but rather the law against murder. So I would argue that in fact pro-choice is illogical because it allows someone the "choice" to murder someone. Have a nice day m9 :)

Logic is based on a set of premises. Your argument goes: Premises: Pro choice people are logical Pro life people are emotional Conclusion: Only Pro choice people are logical Pro life people are emotional See the problem? The fallacy is that the conclusion is also the premise. This is known as cyclical reasoning. An example would be all squares are round, therefore all squares are round. It sounds ridiculous in this context, but makes sense within the cyclical logic pattern, as long as the first statement is considered true. Since the premise is made about an entire people group, assuming that everyone in the people group are one way, your premise is based on prejudice, and is therefore subjective, and invalid. Now let's look at your "facts". Your premise is that a fetus is a clump of cells, therefore it is not alive, therefore killing it is not murder. My counter premise is that you are a clump of cells, therefore not alive, you see where this is going. Your premise needs to be valid, but all you've shown is an unwillingness to listen to others opinions with this post by showing that you assume that any argument that isn't yours is made based on emotion rather than scientific evidence (i.e. fetuses can feel pain, and the mother cannot feel the same pain, therefore they are two separate living entities). Congratulations, you've lived up to your reputation. Coincidentally, the burden of responsibility should lie on the people who decided to procreate, knowing this was a step in the reproductive process. Putting the punishment on the infant is imbecilic. It's like blaming a kid for his parents' mistake.

life/līf/ noun the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death. Those are the rules of life, as defined by science... Since the embryo meets all of those requirements and is, in fact, human life, it should not require further definition to prove its humanity. If that is the case, why should a woman's body rights supersede the fetus' right to exist? The woman (in 99%+, depending where the stats were gathered, of abortion cases) made a choice about her body already... Keep your legs closed and you won't get pregnant. That's logic.

                • Allow me to pose a question of my own: when is an egg considered a chick? Is it as soon as the egg is laid? (It will naturally form into a chick if it is not harmed at any point; in this scenario the egg is fertilized and being cared for.) Is it when the chick inside is a fetus? ( the fetus has partially developed systems now, and if left alone will mature into a chick) Is it when the chick is capable of surviving outside of the egg? ( the egg/ chick no longer needs to be supported by its mother in any way; except it requires her protection. All it needs from her is for her not to allow someone to kill it.) Is it when the chick is chirping and trying to break out of the egg? ( for all intents and purposes the chick is fully functioning, except for the reproductive system which will follow in time, but it still has yet to leave its vessel.) Or is it once the chick has finally broken out of egg and is walking around? ( the chick is now mobile, independent, and can fend for itself; to a degree.) A follow up question if I stomp on an egg as a chick can be heard audibly chirping inside; did I kill a chick or did I simply smash an egg? (My point is that life is a continuous process of developing, consuming, and growing. To look at any point of an organisms life cycle and say that it is not "alive" because it is not fully developed, or because it is vulnerable doesn't mean that it isn't alive. If you want to get technical an argument can be made that cellular life constitutes being alive; from the moment of conception a zygote is formed that immediately begins to divide, draw nutrients and move towards its intended developmental state.)

Over the decades, this kind of research has contributed to lifesaving vaccines for polio, rubella and chicken pox as well as advances in stem cell research that could lead to treatments for degenerative diseases like Parkinson's. ~latest issue of Time

The only logical pro-choice stance is that ugly things happen in the world and sometimes there's no pretty answers to a question and bitches gotta die for others to live.
