Why ask? You already know everybody's answer. Everybody is using a combination of exotic hand cannon and either sniper or shotgun, with a grenades and horseshoes rocket launcher. Literally 95% of people will be using that combo.

My plan is whatever primary I feel like using. Will probably use tlw or red death the majority of the time. Wanna try and use p&t in pvp plus mine isn't maxed so good time to upgrade it. And I'm gonna be upgrading truth because I'm tired of bitches using it in trials.

Why ask this question? Bungie already released weapon usage tracking in crucible and 85% of primaries equipped were the last word and thorn, that's your answer.
