So do you believe? Before you answer consider this:
The universe is forever expanding at every moment since the beginning of time itself, and a rate that is absolutely astounding.
There are roughly 200 BILLION stars in our galaxy alone, and our star is actually very small compared to most stars in this universe. As far as we look there are more and more galaxies, I dont know the current number that we can see with our primitive technology, just know that there are at the very least 3000+ known galaxies.
Mars is said to have a climate just like earth is today, long ago, and possibly even venus too! So if this is true then 3/9 (pluto will always count for me :) planets in our solar system alone could have supported life.
The largest known star would take over 2000 years just to fly around with current technology if we were flying on the surface. That star is about 100 times bigger than the sun (cant remember the exact number). I think its safe to say that that star is a parent to at least 100 planets.
We are only 2000 years into human advancement, and the Catholic Church even held back knowledge for centuries, literally killing anyone that tried to suggest anything that would go against their beliefs. Don't believe me? Look it up, this went on for 700 years if I remember correctly.
If you would bring modern day technology back to people 2000 years ago just imagine people's reaction to it, I cant even fathom what their actions would be.
Now imagine a species that has been around for 10,000 years, they would be nothing short of incredibly amazing. 100,000 years, we dont even have a word to describe their intelligence, but instead of "theories", they would have facts, they would know so much that our brains couldn't even comprehend most of the information. 1,000,000 years? I guarantee you that they would have almost no limits, they could travel faster than the speed of light, whether it be by wormhole, or something impossible for us to even to imagine. And this universe is billions and billions of years old, they do exist, somewhere out there. With technology like that they could pick out and examine a speck of dust on our planet from their own homes, or whatever they would live in.
I'd bet my life that at least one alien species has been here, are still here, and were here even before we were.
Do you honestly think that we would be the only thing living in this universe? There is literally infinite space, do you truly believe that it is all only for us? A greedy, destructive, ignorant, forceful race? If that is what you believe I must say that I cannot respect your opinion, and I ask, no, I beg you to tell me why I am wrong. I'm not trying to come off as some kind of asshole, I just want to know how on earth you could possibly believe that?
This is a universe of infinite possibilities
Edit!
Oh wow, I'm surprised to see I got 500 replies on this thread! I guess I'll do my best to revive it and go for 1000!
Almost at 650 replies! Damn I'm glad people are this Interested in alien life!

1 ReplyThey've already discovered living bacteria on meteors in space so those are aliens technically speaking

The universe is constantly expanding. There has to be life out there somewhere. not in this solar system but somewhere.
-
It's irrational to say that there aren't extraterrestrials somewhere out there. The universe is really really big.

1 ReplyEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 8/8/2015 1:18:38 PMI don't have beliefs. I just think it's very unlikely that we are the only planet with life in this unfathomably vast universe.

3 RepliesEdited by Cosmic Milk: 8/3/2015 6:30:43 AMTwo words Drake's Equation In my opinion it is stupid and selfish to believe that earth is the only planet that supports life in the universe

Ayy lmao

3 RepliesYeah. The sick bastards keep probing me.

To think that we're alone in such an expansive universe would be really depressing.

They're abundant. They avoid us.

Edited by mgvertigo101: 8/5/2015 8:38:02 PMStatistically speaking there is, has been and/or will be other life somewhere in our universe

100% You can thank the government for creating the doubt

To be logical just cause we only know life happened in one place doesn't mean It didn't or can't happen anywhere else

I'm a mother -blam!-ing dinosaur beech

1 ReplyReally though it freaks me out kinda... Like it's weird thinking that there may be other life forms out there, maybe they are intelligent or maybe they are beast. Or would if they are in the same state as us... Wondering if others outside their world exist... When we think of meeting aliens we think they could answer all the questions of the universe but would if they look for US to find all the questions of the universe. It's crazy isn't it?

35 RepliesIf anyone doesn't believe in God then how can they believe in aliens? On topic, I think it's possible.

I believe in love

I always say the universe is too huge for just one race to exist. There has to be other life forms out there. People make it a fuss about how there are no evidence of their existence (anyone else can say the same about God) or that if they do exist, shouldn't we be able to pick them up on telescope? Wouldn't it be possible that we're looking at this the wrong way? Like what if aliens aren't as advance as we think they are? They could be on the same level as we are technology wise and there are no "ancient aliens". (Except maybe they had better luck with their space programs than we do)

11 RepliesThere are four races of known alien intelligent life. 1. The grays 2. A tall Nordic looking race 3. Reptilians 4. A race indistinguishable from humans (likely this isn't that true form) This is known people!
-
They've wen here before.. Unexplainable evidence proves their existence
-
I think that if you don't believe that there's life elsewhere in the universe even when you look into the sky at night and see uncountable stars and know that you're only seeing a fraction of a single galaxy and there's proof that many of these stars have planets in the habitable zone then
you're a God-damned idiot
-
1 ReplyWell, theoretically, the universe is infinite, right? Doesn't that make it virtually impossible that there's no other life in the universe?
-
The universe is too big for us to be alone.
