So I'm definitely biased to PVE as that is really the only thing I care about from Destiny. I tried crucible in the beginning and I just really didn't get into the mechanics. I feel like Destiny was modeled as a primarily PVE game with an added PVP component however lately I feel that PVP is the only thing they (Bungie) care about. Yes, there's lots of content. Yes, more than PVP. But as I'm pretty sure we can all agree, everything PVE has been lackluster at best.
It doesn't matter really, Bungie has failed us all in my opinion (overall) and as a Halo player originally I'm almost certain I will be going back to AC and other games. But I digress.
So what do you think? PVP or PVE?

PvP? Haha. Good pve content: 2 raids, 4 planets, several strikes and missions. Good PvP content?: trials of osiris.

1 ReplyThey take nerfs with pvp largely in mind since those people don't know how to shut up
-
3 RepliesBecause the raids are less used than pvp, plus you get more sense of achievement within trials, raids become repetitive...
-
1 ReplyPVP requires more attention bc it needs to be a lot more balanced than PVE
-
2 RepliesNo custom games. No ranking system. No CTF. Yeah, Bungie definitely favors PvP. Lol!!
-
2 RepliesThey only nerf weapons because of pvp crybabys
-
Probably neither. Bungie is trying to be a "Jack of all Trades", but mastering none. Each side can cite instances where favor falls in the other direction. It does appear that Bungie reacts to PvP issues more than PVE issues with regard to weapons. Then again, that might be as a result of a much more vocal PvP community with regards to guns.
-
1 ReplyEqual, they give exactly no shots about either.
-
Base game and TDB= PvE HOW= PvP
-
1 ReplyFar less work, way smarter bots
-
9 Replies1. Look at the reasons for weapon nerfs 2. You can get unlimited etheric light from trials (just delete your passage card) while you can only get 3 from pve if you are lucky 3. Flawless in trials garuntees a elemental primary. Skollas doesn't 4. Free gear in trials if enough wins. Poe you need treasure keys.

1 ReplyI disagree. Before Trials there wasn't that much to do for players who enjoy PvP. Sure Iron Banner came along ever couple of months. But compared to PvE there isn't a lot to keep players busy with PvP. Daily's, Weeklies, Nightfalls and Raids gave players something to aim for. Playing one game of Crucible for some XP doesn't really compare. I don't understand how you think adding one new game mode (Trials), suddenly shifts the focus to PvP. They added PoE at the same time so it really still keeps the balance aimed at PvE.
-
1 ReplyPvP all Halo focus was majority PvP, the story was a bonus. Since activision is behind the money of destiny, what does activision support? Call of Duty. All PvP based, the story in non- Black OPs games = going downhill.
-
1 ReplyThey're equal. They try to fix glitches in PvE and do their best to fix raids like the random teleportation in vault of glass. The weapon balances come from crucible 90% of the time.
-
PVP..... All I gotta say is Nerfing. Nuff said
-
1 ReplyEdited by iTz_Pillage: 7/21/2015 2:02:19 AMIf they favored pvp the servers wouldn't suck.......just sayin
-
1 ReplyLol in most of their interviews they want to focus on PVP, any weapon balance update is based solely on PVP performance. Most reviews are based on PVP and are sorely inaccurate for PVE. The best armors are only obtainable in a PVP elitist game type... It's not only Bungie, it's the community too.
-
I love trials, never liked crucible before I played trials. Now its the only mode I play.
-
3 RepliesThey favor PVP. Why? Look at EVERY. -blam!-ING. WEAPON. NERF. EVER!
-
They rely on it for advertising on line with the streaming bunches. They see it as easy easy easy content. They see it as keeping a game alive when it should be dead as a hammer. They are right for the most part.
-
1 ReplyYop I feel the same way. The game was supposed to be a PvE focused game. But almost every single patch, and definitely the latest expansion has been completely focused on pvp. Very often at the cost of PvE. I hope next expansion gets better and returns to a PvE focus.
-
1 ReplyI think they are slowly moving away from PVE to PVP.

1 ReplyYou look cute today

2 RepliesTough question to answer. If you look at Destiny since release, one would say up to HoW, it tended to be PvE heavy, but with all the lead up to HoW release - you had to wonder if HoW was more PvP than PvE considering the amount of coverage they spent on PvP content. After HoW release, I'm not so sure that it was more PvP. Sure ToO has given people that love PvP some "end game" content and the ability to acquire gear that is only able to be gotten from the Lighthouse. But that was really it for PvP, while PvE got some additional story missions and got PoE. I for one feel that Bungie needs to look into given the PvP side some additional content and not just the same game types on different maps. I think it would go a long way if Bungie would add some of the stuff that PvP players have been asking about / requesting such as private Crucible matches or map voting. I think the additions of the Rift and Mayhem game types will add some variety, but I think Bungie still has a long road ahead when it comes to PvP content. Full disclosure - I'm mainly a PvE type player, but will venture into Crucible from time to time for bounties but even I see PvP to some degree feels like an step-child and it shouldn't. And yes - I agree that the PVE has been lackluster - but I did enjoy the story mission from HoW as compared to TDB. Not sure I answered or provided any thing new to the discussion, but that's how I see the current state of PvE / PvP.
