You are beside two train tracks. One of which has an infant baby on it and the other has two grown men and one woman. The two tracks come from a fork in the original track, and there is a speeding train going down it. You are helpless to stop it and have no way of saving these human beings. You do, however, have a choice. Choose Option A and you switch the tracks for the child to be slaughtered, or Option B, and switch the tracks so that those poor men and women die. Which one is morally correct?
Edit1: So far it seems, as quoted by Talos, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few".
Edit2: You can't put the track in the middle, nor can the people save themselves. They are tied up.
Edit3: For those trying to break the rules and derail the train, this is what happens and it kills everyone.
Edit4: If you do nothing then you will be killed by crazed satanists and will be sacrificed to the devil in the most painful and excruciating way.

I would cause the people to die. Save the child.
-
Option B, because someone left a baby on the tracks to die, and it was probably those idiotic adults just hanging out on the tracks supposedly oblivious to the train coming as it has sounded its horn.
-
1 ReplyI switch the track to go toward the baby, then I pick up the baby and walk away.

I wouldn't do anything. Wherever the train was going, that is the route it would stay. If I end up moving it I become Kira.

Derail the train and kill everyone aboard.

Government would say option a only to save more lives

Save the young, for better or worse. Save the elder, confirm your fate.
-
If this was an actual legit thing, all of us would run away like -*+=. But since we are all in our little fantasy worlds, i would probably save the child, since the child hasn't seen the world to its extent yet.

In the words of our dearly departed Leonard nimoy:
the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few... Or the one
R.I.P. Dr. Spock and so many others

Depends on how much the baby is tied up. If it's tied up here and there and freaking everywhere, probably the baby. If its not and the knot is simple, I'll try to untie it since babies are smaller and set the railroad to the baby's side.

3 Repliesdepends.... how hot is the woman and is she single?

3 RepliesWhere does the train go if I don't switch it?
-
7 RepliesI choose option B because if the adults are stupid enough to stay on the tracks then they deserve to die
-
I don't think you could feel morally correct in either case. That implies there is a right and wrong answer.
-
Pick up baby and let train on track A do i get noebel prise?
-
1 ReplyMove the baby *assuming the adults are perfectly healthy* If not a single one of those adults does not have the sense to remove themselves fom a train track or the the awareness to hear the train coming then that's their fault not mine
-
A baby can't escape the rails, adults can. Babies aren't smart enough to stay away from railways, adults are. I'd save the baby because thr adults have a better chance of escaping.

Edited by BEEFCAKE1691: 7/20/2015 9:23:44 PMChoose option B, then punch baby to death for fun.

In a situation where ones morality is tested, an option for them to remain morally correct is in need. I don't think I'd pick an option. If I had to, I would choose the infant, so that I may raise it to become a better person than I so that when it is faced with these kinds of decisions, they may choose the higher ground.

13 RepliesBetter test Option A: 1 cute puppy Option B: 2 women 2 babies 2 men

Switch the train to option a, then save the baby yourself
