I am not knocking anyone here but I seem to be reading an argument on the forums that goes something like this :-
" Fallout 4 will be better than Destiny because, wow, did you see E3 ?" and which then goes on to say that Fallout 4 will be the Destiny "Killer"..
But how do you know ?
I loved Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas but what is it, exactly, about Fallout 4 that makes people think its going to be so good ?
Shown at E3 ?. Err, wasn't Destiny...and didn't that turn out quite the different game..
It has a story ?..Err, does it ?.. You wake up in a vault, you craft a few things, you go here and there doing stuff...which doesn't exactly set it apart from 3 or New Vegas ...I mean, its hardly an original story is it ?..(and yes I admit originality in video games can be kind of hard)
Its got good graphics ? Questionable when you compare with with Destiny
It won't need constant patching and amending/buffing/nerfing/updating ? ..Err, I am pretty sure my copy of Fallout Las Vegas was a buggy glitchy mess at times
Its not made by Bungie ? Okay, I'll give you that one..
Its a full game and the same price as Destiny's expansion.. And I will give you that one as well..
But why do you think Fallout 4 will "beat" Destiny ?..or perhaps you don't ?..Or, and whisper it quietly, you have room in your life for more than one game ??..
Just interested..
Edit : Thanks for the variety of replies. Very interesting and thoughtful compared with the inane responses I occasionally get. Obviously a thread for intelligent people lol!. Thanks guys!

Destiny is a "Merry go Round" you play the same bounties, same PvP maps same strikes day after day after day........ Fallout 4 "OPEN WORLD" and if you have played 3 and New Vegas you know this to be a true open world, go where you want and do what you want....when you want. I have played them all 1,2 ,3 and New Vegas and have been anticipating and waiting for this game to become a reality. Some times I look at my time spent on Destiny and wonder "why" why did I waste all that time doing the same thing over and over. I have God knows how many hours into Skyrim and Fallout 3 and NV and never once questioned "why" everytime I started a new game I played a different way, and had a different experience. With Destiny you can start over BUT it is the same repetative grind. Fallout 4 WILL end Destiny for me ********* 11/10/2015 *********

Dude you don't Err... Buy a fallout game for graphics and you Err... Clearly don't understand that they have not shown off the story and Err... With MIT in the mix we should see a good story about the battle over tech with brotherhood of steel and the enclave also Err... The Taken King story is just new bad guy go kill him and his army Err... I wounded were I herd that before? Err... All the destiny main game and dlc. Also why are you even comparing them.

They come out at different times, nearly two months between the two, some I'm not worried about it. September play Destiny, October play Halo 5, and November-forever play Fallout 4.

2 RepliesPlayed fallout new Vegas, to me the game was awful so I'll stick with destiny. TTK or not.

32 RepliesEdited by Warpath73: 7/21/2015 11:43:35 AMDestiny isn't going anywhere - I am as addicted to this hamster wheel as almost anyone - but a high # of players will take a long vacation of several weeks in post-apocalyptic Boston, where a better developer has set a better game with an actual story and legit RPG elements. Oh, and where hundreds of hours of content are actually hundreds of hours, rather than the same 5 hours repeated 100 times. Again, I enjoy Destiny for the most part - but it's like comparing Candy Crush to Mass Effect.

1 ReplyEdited by Juice Turker: 7/21/2015 6:17:12 PMFirst of all, Bethesda has never let me down with its open world rpgs. Secondly, it's a single player game which means it really shouldn't be compared to Destiny at all. Thirdly, people are ready for Fallout again. Destiny has been a constant in most of our lives (those that still play ;) ) for some time now. I'm ready to switch it up. The Fallout games have always been my favorite games, so yes, I'll be putting Destiny down for a while when it comes out. It'll give me some time to hear what people have to say about TTK and decide whether or not I want to buy it. No preorder here. I won't be fooled again. Ultimately, I don't think any one game will "kill Destiny", but they certainly better step up their game if they want to stay relevant.

Fallout looks sick AF That is all
-
It's the first game in a year that I know I will put my Destiny time on hold for. I loved the Fallout series, and I'm sure this one will be no exception. Plus I get to use my very own Pipboy! Woo hoo!
-
No game will kill Destiny. If you overplay it or something bothers you about it, You kill Destiny for yourself. There's always room for other games and other things in your life, try not to fixate and live a little

6 RepliesGames that killed destiny : Games that didn't kill destiny: eso, the Witcher, Grand theft auto heists, final Fantasy, xenoverse, mortal combat, dark souls, borderlands, bloodborne and many more (lemme know if I missed a good one) Games that won't kill destiny : fallout 4, gears of War, battlefront, scale bound, dark souls 3, mirrors edge, halo 5(again, lemme know if I missed one)

Well so far Bethesda has yet to make a crappy game, at least to my knowledge. But anything could happen

Come November the ttk boredom will set in then it will be fo4's time to shine until the next destiny dlc and the cycle will continue into oblivion.

15 RepliesBut in the terms of replay value; FO4> Destiny

Personally I'll be taking a vacation from destiny for a bit when fallout comes out. I don't hate on destiny, but I've played all the fallouts, and I can't wait for this one. War, war never changes.
-
Because hopefully it'll be everything we've ever wanted since Fallout 3. And not a ball of lies like this game was.
-
The only thing Destiny has on fallout is multiplayer. That's it. Fallout New Vegas was better than Destiny will ever be, and it wasn't fantastic.
-
Destiny sucks
-
Does fallout 4 have fps multi-player?????? Destiny will live on. I am hype for fallout 4 though, love those games

2 Replies1 word
mods
The comparison is as stupid as the one with Witcher 3.....Fallout's a single player sandbox RPG...Destiny is nothing like it...still will be playing it more than Destiny but not out of spite....been waiting years for 4.
-
It's made by Bethesda.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Yardragon: 7/21/2015 10:44:25 AMcompletely off destiny in November for sure. Fallout 4 taken all my time. hell, we're on GOW, GOW3, and Halo to add...all on the Xbone.

2 RepliesThese games offer different experiences. I highly doubt anything will "kill" Destiny anytime soon.
