pulse rifles will be taking auto-rifles' place of weakness after the update.

They only reduced the damage on Medium Rate of fire Pulse rifles by 2.5% and slightly reduced stability all around. High damage Pulse Rifles like Messenger and Hopscotch Pilgrim are almost untouched and are the best in class for pulse rifles.
