Crucible is getting better, did you notice?
I myself was one of ppl that got fed up from the meta weapons in such small maps (curse whoever complained about combined arms maps) but now I noticed a CHANGE in Crucible:
* more ppl using legendary primaries like pulse rifles.
* more exotic primaries other than the meta thorn/TLW.
* more special weapons other than shotguns.
*Less final rounders in normal Crucible.
My conclusion is despite the ridiculous range on thorn and shotguns in such small maps, pulse rifles and snipers are winning,
I myself go +3 k/d in every game I play with pulse rifle and a sniper (look my Hunter game history).
So what is your setup atm?
Also, Did you notice the change?
P. S I play on ps4 and Europe time zone, Idk about others.
Edit : Lots of positive comments, have more faith in fellow pvpers who wants crucible to be a balanced
environment with variety.
Community best conclusions :
* Trials kept them busy.
* Ppl bored of op weapons.
* weapons reforge for légendaires.
* some ashamed of using op weapons.
* New weapons can compete.

Beat me to it, I was thinking about making a post like this! I definitly see a lower amount of Thorn, and Crucible seems more enjoyable overall. Today I saw multiple Bad Jujus running around, it was really fun competing against them.

2 RepliesI think a good explanation has to do with weapon reforging. Now that people can be pretty selective on the perks the have on legendary weapons, they can get guns to complement their play style better. I know I have.

I'm sick of having my team win and seeing the whole entire enemy team getting legendaries. When my team loses, we get no legendaries.

3 RepliesI see a variety of weapons used for primaries every day. Thorn and TLW are not anywhere near as prevalent as forum posts claim. As far as shotguns and alternates are concerned, forget it. Shotguns completely dominate Crucible! In fact, the game keeps rewarding me with shotguns in various missions. The other day it even gave me Universal Remote.

3 RepliesI used the thorn well before it became the meta. Back when suros was king I was rockin the 6 shooter. Over the past 3 months it's been bad juju. Over the past month it's the messenger. As of yesterday it's been the Mida. Current build on titan is speed and Armor w/ Mida, and shoulder charge. Matador 64 w/ shot package, quick draw, (slide further) and soft balistic. The build is all about speed and switching weapons quickly. I'm a very reserved player and I'm changing my play style on my titan to move around more.

1 ReplyWas in a couple of matches of control yesterday where most players had auto rifles it was great fun. Why not have a daily or weekly playlist where we can only use certain weapons? We'd have fun and Bungie would get useful data and feedback.

I still see shotguns but I am seeing more variety and better playing noobs.(lvl 5s and ups kickin' blam on my team.)

I almost always refuse to use my thorn, last word, vex, gally, or truth in normal (non-event) crucible games. In fact lately my friends and I have been challenging ourselves to use nothing (no special or heavy weapons and no supers) but the No Land Beyond. What's funny is that more often than not we end up with a positive k/d.

all I noticed is that u cant go 100 % special weapons, which is an improvement. but the meta is ruled by exotic hcs and pulses, theres not much of balance

Every now and then I can go a few games where people are not spamming thorn, but instead it is TLW/shotguns that is spammed instead. So no, haven't really noticed people straying away from the usual BS. Along with idiot teammates that flip spawns and cause me to spawn in with enemies shooting me in the back or literally spawning in at the exact same time/place as an enemy player, I would say it is actually worse because more people are playing PvP and they do not have a clue as to what the hell is going on.

I play with Thorn and Messenger depending on my mood. Snipers and Shotguns vary depending on the map.

No simple as... No way is it "getting better" of anything it's worse. When people get butt hurt guess which weapons come out? Boring

not sure what game you're playing crucible seems to be worse than ever.... connection and players red-bar'ing has gotten worse every month. Matchmaking must have zero science in balancing teams. I would say 90% of the games i play have at least 1 player red bar'ing and maybe 1 out of 5 games i play is actually fun and not a landslide either war. in short, its terrible.
