And I'm hooked. Nice break from our beloved Destiny shooter. Anyone still play? Any tips for a newcomer ? Thanks
Edit: thanks for all the glitch advice men. But this is for the 360. I will be picking up the pc version for sure though.

It's good to see new people play Skyrim

When you get the PC version experiment with some mods. I used the Frostfall mod and the Wet & Cold mod that made enhanced the weather and made it so you can freeze to death.

Love that game

Are you getting Oblivion cause it's much better

13 RepliesGo to this place called Blackreach. Once you are there, there will be a big light that is hanging from the ceiling in the center of Blackreach. If you Fus Ro Dah the light, a chest will spawn right next to you with 50,000 gold in it. This Easter Egg only works when you are a really low level and have auto-save turned off. If you don't meet the requirements, it won't work.

4 RepliesFor a first play through I would recommend not fast traveling. At all. You see a lot more of the world if you walk everywhere.

Prepare yourself for you will never set foot outside for the next 4 months and that's just the base content then add another 1 or 2 months for the dlcs

Don't take advice from anyone, but take this advice. Lol Just wing it and explore.

Edited by Oxide: 7/17/2015 9:46:38 PMJoin companions for easy gold and cure disease potions (you will find them on silver hand members) you will need the potions for the dawnguard quest line if you are not a vampire

Actually any daedric artifact is good. There's one shield that gives you a magic barrier. You can block dragon breath attacks with it. So useful

I love being a conjuration and destruction based Mage, always fun

Read the lore of the Civil War, read about both factions, and actually think about the long term future or goals if either of them wins.
most people would choose stormcloaks but I think the Empire is the only possible future for Tamriel. With another Great war inevitable, do you think the empire will continue to enforce the banning of Talos when the time comes?
5 RepliesDon't kill parthuurnax!!!! Just don't . You will know what I mean later in game

5 RepliesSpeak with everyone. Read everything. Explore the world. Skyrim is full of interesting quests, occurences and lore. You should try to experience everything it offers. Oh, and if you encounter any bug (which you will) or wonder about things, use the Elderscrolls Wiki.

I'm sure it's somewhere in the comments, but you can use Whirlwind Sprint through thin objects like plates and a wall to fall through the world to find a chest linked to a merchant's inventory, quest items, etc. It's great for skipping conjuration training to forge daedric armor easily in the Midden's Atronach Forge, or in case you don't have gold for an item you want, but keep in mind it's difficult getting into different chests in most places, and is applicable anywhere in a confined space

Couple hundred hours in and I haven't beaten the main story or touched dlc. Mods are a must for the PC version.

1 ReplyExplore eveything and prepare to loose 700+ hours of your life. Tots worth it though

2 RepliesMy absolute number one tip when playing any Bethesda title: -Do NOT ask for advice, help, tips, guides, walkthroughs, etc. They are games which, I believe, are far better played when you go in relatively blind and stick with it. Immerse yourself. Just you, and the game's world.

2 RepliesYeah, take the disc out, go buy oblivion and put that disc in. It's better
