What does Celestial Nighthawk work best against?
I got it from a nightfall today. Poor bastard I played with got the Sawtooth Oscillator. My heart goes out to him, truly. But anyway.
What can it instakill? What is it really effective against?
I know it can obliterate Ir Yut and hallowed ogres. Are there any majors it can't kill in one shot (i.e. level 35 captains)? Can it one-shot the Psion Flayers?
Help me out here. I'd like to know.
This helmet might actually make me play my hunter for a change.

Most majors and ultras can be insta killed with it. In general if they have fire shields then you can kill them from full HP. If they do not have fire shields then best to remove the shields before using to guarantee a kill. It almost one shots the gatekeepers on VOG Basic rule of thumb for most majors and ultras you need to remove shields to guarantee one shot just to be safe. (I have one shot plenty of times through enemy shields but if you want it to be guaranteed then do this. The Ultras that you would expect to be very hard to take down (like the targets on POE) will not quite kill their full HP when their shields are down. Generally you want to get about 20% dmg done to their HP to guarantee a 1 shot kill from the nighthawk.

Make sure you use range perk for Golden Gun skill tree when using it, or the damage fall-off will drastically reduce its potential damage. It can make Crota drop to a knee in 1 shot + a bit of primary. The last time Skolas was solar (pre-nerf) me and 2 other golden gun hunters broke his servitor bonds in 1 volley. Honestly, anytime it's a solar burn - use it.

4 RepliesYou can one shot the deathsinger on normal (not sure about hard, haven't been able to get a clear shot on her), you can down crota on normal, it destroys any exalted (doesn't matter the shield)

It works best against anything you want to die. Outside of bosses, nothing stands against it. It one shots every "kill target" in PoE. I love it, and the duel increases super perks plus Intellect bonus means I can Golden Gun [b]at least[/b] every two minutes. I love that helmet. Easily my favorite PvE armor piece for Hunters.

Seems to help keep bubbles going.

6 RepliesI did two 35k non critical hits on Phogoth from the shrieker room on the nightfall this week. Still had to unload a full Gally and a few blackhammer hits to get him down. Would be interested to know what a closer critical hit would have done.

I shot it killed a hollow wizard and then that special enemy before you open the door on nightfall, and it does about 58000 damage to tier 2 enemies with solar burn, it really rekts enemies

I'd imagine that BadJuju would be a great exotics to use with this helmet. Gets super energy much faster.

bosses. any boss. especially if theres solar burn. no instakill but significant amount of damage. if you're going to use your GG on a boss, use that helmet. its 3-4 times faster(so its safer) and does much more damage than hitting with 3-4 shots. match that with a lot of intel, then you can hit a boss twice with it. once at the start of the fight and once in the middle or end.

2 RepliesIve heard crota normal is insta downable, tried it, didnt work for me. Gg is highly affected by range, so if you want to test instakills, make sure to be close to your target and/or use the range perks on gg.
