If you think 20 is expensive for 3 emote, 3 shaders and 3 exotic class items, you are entitled and in me opinion not worth the space you take up in this world.
Let's just say this
Animators make around 15-20 a hour.
It could take 24-45 hours on a single emote.
$360-$900 per emote.
So a total of $1080- $2700 just to create the emote. Not to code it into the gam,. Make a interface for switching them out, bug testing them, and then playing Microsoft and Sony to have to be able to be downloaded in their store.
Even at $20 it would take them. 54-135 Collectors edition just to cover the cost of making the emotes ( and nothing else.)
That may not seem like a lot to a huge compony but when you fact in that this is just a small fraction of what goes into making content ( and don't forget server matenence ) that these things cost money.
If please kindly take you entitled additude and delete it when you account because we don't want it here.

Never go full retard.

wtf are emotes

4 RepliesOk buddy. Then explain why THE LAST TWO MOTHERFÚCKING DLC'S COST TWENTY DOLLARS A PIECE.

3 RepliesEdited by CWard17: 6/30/2015 7:42:35 PMI think I speak for everyone here when I say... I couldn't care less about your opinion on how I calculate value. If you feel like 1/3 the price of the original game is worth some "exclusive" items that you and say 10 million other people will have... Great! I place greater on the money in my wallet. Now, go back to mowing my lawn and cleaning the pool, thanks.

Your logic has gone full retard, along with your spelling.
-
They are clearly not putting money into server maintenance. XD -pew pew pew-
-
You're wrong. It's filth like you that makes publishers like Activision think they can take advantage of us, the gaming community.

4 RepliesHow r u getting these figures? They could make an intern do the emotes for free. Hell in college I had to code the entire game of minesweeper, connect four, and scrabble. I didn't get paid you have no proof these people are getting paid nor the amount of hours it takes nor the amount of time. Stop verbally vommitting all over the forums.

No. Just no. Shaders would take like maybe 5 mins for all three. The class items would take a day or two to draw up, but not to code. Given once drawn the just use existing models to create. Emotes are a matter of using motion capture software and hardware, which I have used, maybe a week and that's pushing it (gotta get those moves down).

Not arguing that they should be cheaper. I don't see any value in the package, so I'm not buying it. However, assuming your numbers are close to accurate, your argument only makes sense if bungie was building the extra content just for the $20 bundle. Because the extra content was made for the collectors editions, the economics of building the emotes shaders and class items would have been factored into the cost of the taken king, and would be covered by those sales. The decision to sell these exclusive items as a stand alone package was made post production after demand, and therefore should represent almost 100% profit.

I think your lips are a little chapped there, brah... need some vaseline?

Desticle aleart!!

5 RepliesThe amount of work you put into something doesn't translate into the same amount of value. If you spend a thousand hours creating something that has no real use to anyone then it has no real value no matter how much you demand for your work.
-
2 RepliesEdited by WhoAteMyFunDip: 6/30/2015 7:59:50 PMAbsolute idiot. How come other studios are able to give away free shit? Furthermore, what's your excuse for the DLC ripped from the game? How'd pay scales work then, Trump? Go home, fanboy, you're drunk.

Even if only one million players buy the $20 collector's bundle, Bungie would have made 20 million dollars. Remember that the bundle is a digital download. So a ton of money was saved for not paying for physical discs, box art, etc. Now do you personally think that the Devs at Bungie spent 20 million dollars to create and code those emotes, shaders and class items? If your answer is NO, then let me ask this; do you think Bungie spent 10 million dollars to create and code those emotes, shaders and class items? If your answer is again NO then you have to ask yourself "why would Bungie charge an additional ten bucks if they are going to make a ton of profit even if they sold the bundle at half price?". Of course the answer is "money and more profit". This is a business after all. But I hope you can see how a $20 asking price for a handful of knock knacks that offer no additional content to the base game can seem like a rip off to many people. Especially when you consider that the two DLC packs were the same price. How can emotes be equal to strikes, story missions, new guns/gear, new arena mode, new crucible maps and a raid?
-
By your own logic it would still be worth less than a single expansion, even the dark below.
-
8 RepliesThen video games should cost thousands of dollars instead of $60.
-
Damn. And here I thought customers didn't like paying obsurd amounts of money for something that couldn't make less of a difference in anything.
-
I am crying at how absurd your prices are, lmfao do some research. They literally rehash bullshit and make it seem different. Guns, armor, emotes, etc. 20$ is not a lot of money, but it is not worth what they are providing in return.

Edited by OldManSeven: 6/30/2015 7:36:49 PMEverybody who thinks $20 is to expensive for the collectors content that's cool. Your entitled to your opinion. There, I fixed your subject line. Couldn't do much with rest of this post so.....mute.

Edited by Machiaveli: 6/30/2015 11:22:00 AMYou have no clue how pricing digital content works. Imagine if they priced all game content such that they could break even by only selling 135 copies... If they can make back the money they spent by only selling 135 copies at $20, then they should definitely be dropping the price in my opinion.

Edited by CapoBlue: 6/29/2015 10:45:08 PMHey guys I am creating my own pack of pictures. They are high quality stick figures and it took me a long time to draw out the lines. I will be charging $20 for a pack of 6 stick figure pictures long with 2 complimentary perfectly drawn circles. Hurry up before I run out and call 1-800-You-A-Sucka or email me at RipUOff@Getpaid.com. Hurry now before supplies run out. EDIT: I am not going to drop prices, if you are gonna complain about my prices then you are a broke self entitled child.

1: It IS too much. - I mean its just "fluff" - I don't see it worth the 20 bucks. Couldn't care less honestly. - Why the hell would anyone want to spend ANY amount of money on it? Should it be given free? Not with the shitty attitudes people have thrown at bungie. you people don't deserve jack shit in my honest opinion with all the crap you give them. *You know who you are* 2: As it is fluff - I honestly rather it get dumped into the RNG pool and call it good. That said...I agree...people are self entitled assholes about it. But I only have a slight difference of opinion on it.

So you just told millions of people to kill themselves. Dumb af
