Title says it all. Who is satisfied with the compromise for year one players? Who think we deserve more (or maybe even less)?
Let me know what you all think

2 RepliesI think its funny that they value the 3 emotes, shaders and class items as half of there new expansion cost ( and the same value as past expansions) . If that's the case how big is the new expansion?
-
Their solution was to say sorry and ask for more money...lol, even sadder was how many people immediately bought the apology and the overpriced cosmetic shit....

2 RepliesEdited by The One And Only: 6/25/2015 4:19:07 PMNah not satisfied at all. Like others have said, this content should have been made free to those that already have everything up to july/august (with level 30 to prove). $20 is half the price of TTK already so they're saying that those 9 items are worth half the content of TTK? Really? Either TTK has no content whatsoever or they're just trying to gouge people's wallets. Maybe both. I fully understand the concept of microtransactions in MMOs, I've played several in the past. I just don't condone it and neither should you. What drove me away from most MMOs was precisely the fact that so much of it revolved around real-life currency to boost in-game progress or obtain items that were otherwise locked away unless you paid for it. I don't mind paying the equivalent of a subscription (DLC expansions are basically that for those short-sighted that can't see this) but when I do, I want everything to be made available. Please note the distinction: I don't want it for free without purchase of TTK, I want it to be made available when I purchase TTK which is the equivalent of me saying "I support this game, I like it, so reward us loyal supporters when we do so, and don't gouge us in the process by making certain items separately available for even more money." These are 9 items, only one of which has an actual effect in-game (exp buff) why can't it be given for free to those that have already shown support to Destiny by having already purchased the base game + the 2 DLCs? It would be an amazing gesture, it would go a long way in securing the stay of vet guardians like myself. But instead they do this, and it's having a repercussion, a negative one, among players.

6 RepliesI'm more surprised to see people readily accepting this whole thing. That other thread asking for signatures from those who accept Luke Smith's apology. Are y'all filthy rich? Or just plain blind and ignorant? 20 bucks for cosmetic items that only change the way you look. That's the same price we paid for the expansion pass, and half of the new Taken King dlc. Nope, definitely not satisfied.
-
No. I bent over and took the collectors edition like a man as I could kinda see some value in being a bit of a snowflake. Now I just feel dirty as now others will have my moves for less pain. what do the CE editon buyers get now the scrubs have got the goodies?
-
1 Reply$20 is the cost of an entire DLC.
-
1 ReplyMade it worse

3 RepliesI don't see an issue anymore. We can now buy the digital items without repurchasing everything we already have. It's now a simple choice, do YOU value those items at $20? Yes? Buy it! No? Don't buy it..... They're non-critical to the game and you don't miss out for not owning them, wish people would realize games do offer in game extras at additional cost, down to the consumer if they want it or not...
-
2 RepliesIt is a step in the right direction, but is still overpriced for the items involved, $10 (max) would be a more fair price for 9 digital items
-
I didn't care before, I still don't. I really can't understand what the fuss is about. They have offered you the opportunity to have some digital things for a fee. If you want them you can decide whether that fee is something you'd be willing to pay. If you don't want them or are unwilling to pay the fee you have the option of not having the items. Do I feel that, just because I've been playing since launch (and actually before that), that I'm entitled to something free? No. I paid money for a game. I've played that game. A lot. I already got what I paid for. If I want to play the next expansion I will look at the cost, decide if I want to pay it and then purchase it (or not). Ultimately Bungie can put whatever price they want on their products, you just have to choose whether you're willing to pay it. They aren't shafting anyone, they're just running a business.
-
Um in the middle? The $80 repurchase was of course unacceptable so we asked them to sell the stuff alone and they did. Now if the price is too high just don't buy it. I'm gonna pass because none of the physical items are includes do I don't think it's worth the money. It's really not worth bring upset about and it's sure as hell not worth skipping TTK which if the old leaks are true is absolutely worth the money.
-
Don't care, still getting my collectors edition
-
8 RepliesThe thing is that is bungie made it free then 80% of the Destiny population would have it. By making it 20 dollars it decreases the chances of you running into someone with these class items. Also it's 20 DOLLARS, you can easily make that money through this cool thing called a job. For the people that have a 1000+ hours and are complaining about it you probably could have worked in that time and made plenty of money for DLC's or what ever you want. If you don't think it's worth 20 dollars then DONT -blam!-ING BUY IT!

Gib us free doc we happy

Never had a problem in the first place.

2 Replies$20 bucks for 9 items is too much
-
First of all, before people state "this is what you wanted and are now complaining", I will not be buying the 9 cosmetic items for $20 nor did I sit on forums complaining about all this either. I'm going to buy TTK and that is all. After reading both sides opinions, I'd have to agree with those who still don't like the deal mainly for one reason. I see exactly what people have been talking about it still being a rip off. The simple fact that majority of people completely seem to miss is that you believe those 9 cosmetic items are worth $20. The Dark Below and House of Wolves DLC which included all new content was also $20. This is the problem people are seeing and rightly so. If you can't see this then you are simply blind. I personally could care less who does and doesn't spend their money on what. If you think it's worth it then buy those 9 cosmetics for $20, it's your money. In my opinion though it still doesn't change the fact that you're being ripped off. I believe they could charge for it but not for the same price as your two previous DLC which contained actual content. I personally think $10 would of been a much better price for the cosmetics and taken a lot better by everyone overall. Although, I probably still wouldn't buy them myself as they don't really do anything for me.

11 RepliesI'm disgusted by it. Grossly overpriced. There are DLCs that cost 10 bucks (Undead Nightmare) that had over 10 hours of content. Dragonborn for Skyrim cost 20 bucks, it has over 20 hours of content. Bungie is charging us 20 bucks for dance moves, shaders and class items. That is grossly overpriced and they are honestly disgusting for charging us that much while smugly claiming they are listening to us and care for us.
-
1 ReplyThe solution is good. It's exactly what people were asking for - remove the old content and lower the price. The problem is the digital collector's was overpriced compared to the physical to begin with. Same price. Less stuff. If it had been $10 cheaper to begin with and year 1 players were now being asked to pay $10 for the shaders etc then this wouldn't be an issue. The international pricing remains an issue.
-
They said there would be more info if you already have the digital collector's edition, I'm waiting on that. Hoping for an upgrade option.

The community claims Bungie/Activision are greedy moneygrabbers, Bungie agree to digitally sell these exclusive items, and the community throw money at the screen. At first, I blamed Bungie/Activision, now I blame half of the community. Luke Smith was wrong, they don't even need to show you the emotes and people will throw money their Tv screen.
-
I stopped playing Destiny long before TK. TK just made me feel better about my early decision. The reasons I have stopped play might never be addressed as I think Bungie is in capable of admitting what they either did wrong or did poorly due to trying to avoid investing enough development into Destiny.
-
6 RepliesWow I can't believe people still aren't satisfied. This just goes to show you that this community is made up of entitled crybabies who want everything for free.
-
Not yet. DEEJ said he'd be posting more on the $20 bundle of extras today sometime. Let's put it into perspective: $20 before: raid, 15 pieces of raid gear (5 pieces per class) new weapons, story missions, strike playlist, new bounties and vendor to level up. $20 now: 3 pieces of exotic class items (1 per class) , 3 new dancing emotes (1 for each species) 3 armor shaders. So why pay the same amount of money you paid for a expansion, for 9 'exclusive' codes that are purely cosmetic? Now, if DEEJ and the team come up with more content, and its worth the $20, then it'd be worth it and everything would be fixed. Point is, the prices were gouged, the deal was only good for those who had never played before, and those who had played that wanted the extra content offered, would have to rebuy the whole game, for 9 extra codes. Now we can spend all day pointing fingers (oh its Activision, no its bungie blah blah blah) point is, someone is trying to dry ram the gaming community in their wallets. It shouldn't be stood for. Now, bungie and Activision deserve to be paid for their services, but you can't give a pebble and expect a mountain of cash in return.

1 ReplyNo one is ever satisfied, are they
-
2 RepliesThey didn't even do anything about having to rebuy content. All they did was take away from the value of the collector's edition content. Now, unless someone sees all the physical stuff around your room, you'll look just like every other person. At least the ghost edition had stuff that made people go "oh man I wish I could get that!"
