How can you guys spend 40 dollars for an expansion and 20 dollars for a few useless emotes then act like you didn't spend
60 dollars on content that was there ....do go guys just throw money at bungiee everytime they duck you in the ass.
Edit: I'm mainly talking about the 20$ for useless content if you want to buy it fine by you but you could spend your money better elsewhere
Edit: I care because its bad for gaming in general if other company's see this they'll be like "hey let's -blam!- our player base in the ass for their money just like Activision/Bungie did" if you guys keep on acting like it isn't a problem then what happens when Destiny 3 is here and its 60$ for the game and 60$ for each dlc?

1 ReplyI got a job out of high school and have money to support myself as well as spoil myself and girlfriend. Life bud
-
Maybe mommy and daddy should have spent more money on your education. Poor child
-
No. But I can easily afford another $80 and still pay my bills.
-
Destiny has a very reasonably priced DLC model. They only added the $20 cosmetic items because people asked them to. Destiny gets as many updates as a paid MMO, and only had $35 of DLC all year long.
-
Lol let's just say there parents got them covered lol
-
2 full priced games in 2 years = must be rich.
-
I can work less than an hour and earn $40 for DLC. In fact I just made about $10 reading these threads. Why do so many people on here think they should tell everyone else how to spend their money?
-
I will buy it if I like it, cause I work and work and know the value of a dollar and let's say 100 people worked on the dlc for 12 hour a day for 5 days a week at 20 dollars(lol its just a fake amount relax) an hour 12 hrs × 5days = 60 hours × 20 dollars = 1200 × 100 = 12000 a week + electric cost + over time + marketing (which is usually a big portion of the overall budget) that's just dlc Obviously this is an example but it's actually not completely absurd how much they are charging for somethings

If each item in the collectors package was sold Individually they would be around 2.25$ each. Which is in line with other individual things sold like call of duty weapon skins, emblems, player cards. So statistically the pack is on the dot with other standard cosmetic item sales. Value of items is not factual. It's up to said player. But typically cosmetic items are not bought based on value. You buy them because it looks cool and you want it! I could sit here and list things I've bought or things you could have bought for 20$ that would probably be worth less. But the post is long enough as is and I don't expect a reply anyway. Let alone a logical one. At the end if the day it's just cosmetic gear. Buy it or don't. Your game experience will not change. We will be playing the same ttk either way.[/quote]

1 ReplyA night out in the UK usually sets me back about £100-£150 which includes far too much beer, vodka and a lapdance. A stripper with her own teeth is usually extra. That's just one night and a lot of money. I really have no problems spending £40-£60 on content which means on the nights I am not out chasing tail or watching single mums with their boobies out while trying to hold vomit in from the sheer amount of alcohol in my system I am entertained then so be it. I really do not see the problem here. Bungie set the price and we decide if we will pay it or not.

Shut the -blam!- up with this bullshit already if you can't afford it don't buy it or get a damn job

4 RepliesEdited by brutalgear: 6/25/2015 7:10:58 PMThe market determines the price of the games and DLC. Video games have not had an increase in price for how long now? Games are still only $60? Production costs have gone up across the board, from graphics, to sound, to voice acting, and if your an online game there is another huge expense. All while still only getting $60 per game. Since the market demanded $60 was the most a base game could be sold for, companies turned to paid DLC, to alleviate this problem. What do you think the production costs were of Destiny. Off the top of my head it adds up. From the voice actors they hired, to the many unique gun sounds, to the server maintenance, to the fact that a production team is always in high gear preparing for the next release. If you don't think it's worth it don't buy it, but I guarantee you that it is priced at a point that it is not prohibitive to purchase it. Really, I'll spend $20 ordering pizza to be delivered. That lasts what, maybe an hour?

Yes I am

3 RepliesI mean I wouldn't say I'm rich but I could afford the popcorn at the movies...
-
Its called having a job and buying whatever the -blam!- I want
-
Above middle class. I'm buying other games instead of spending more money on this game
-
Can you -blam!-ing stop telling people how to manage their money?Mind your own money and financial situation and stop sticking your nose in other's business
-
I have wasted 20 dollars on far worse things. No one here needs you to tell them how to spend their money. What you may find worth 20 bucks, some other person may find ludicrous.
-
I'm pretty up There when it comes to money, I wouldn't say rich, but I would say well off
-
If look at the amount of time you put into this game compared to what you do for others it makes it look much more worth it..... most games can be beaten in a matter of days and then there's nothing else left
-
Edited by KoR x Hitman: 6/25/2015 7:23:20 PMI'm definitely doing fine when it comes to money, but I still don't know if I'll spend the extra $20. To me money isn't an issue, but the concept of what they are doing really rubs me the wrong way.

1 ReplyI wouldn't say I'm rich but I can afford hookers and coke.
-
I've paid 100 so far for the game and 2 dlc and have over 1000 hours so I say it's worth it.
-
I set money aside for entertainment, destiny... Entertains me. Therefore I'm not out buying other games. The money I put into it, it get back. I have 40 days of play time and have spent $95 thus far with the core game and expansions 1 & 2.

2 RepliesNot rich, but make good money. $40+$20= nothing. I work at a refinery we are in the top 3 biggest worldwide at turning oil into gas and many other things. My base salary is $89,880 a year. Plus my wife works.

See, its not about being rich, its about having a semi-decent job. People that complain about price have to ask their parents for money. See how I'm not complaining.
