$20 for 3 Emotes, Shaders, and Class items
Someone please tell me I read the weekly update incorrectly. Please tell me that Activision/ Bungie are not charging an additional $20 just for 3 emotes, 3 shaders, and 3 class items.
That's insane.
Did I read it wrong?
Edit: please feel free to disagree with me. Personally $20 is too much for cosmetic items in my opinion. Others will not share that opinion. That's okay. I was thinking it would equate to $5. But I guess I am just cheap.
Edit 2: there are some really angry people on this forum. Well, we can disagree. I stand by my opinion and the value of money compared to the lack of content/value for $20. I'm not going to bother reading any more. Have a good night and please don't spend too much time arguing.

They have to. Otherwise there is no incentive of getting the Collectors Edition. They can not sell it for cheaper because it would not make any sense.

I like functional stuff and don't mind paying for it. call me a fashion tragedy but my guardians all wear faction emblems, shaders, and only emote to point out the wolves events loot chests All I see while I'm playing is part of my arms/weapon or scope view $20 for some cosmetic stuff and more wasted use of D pad?? meh... $20 for some kind of decent vehicle that holds a fireteam - now I'm interested!

The digital CE content does not amount to anything close to half the content of a typical expansion, so the $20 price point seems way off the money to me. This is not an apology, this is Bungie testing how many people will indeed throw money at the screen per Luke Smiths comments. There is a good chance I will jump into TTK DLC at the $40 price point if reveals suggest the amount of content will exceed the previous expansions that I've been playing (and assuming MGS V doesn't draw my interest away). But $20 is something I can't reconcile for a few shaders and emotes (undoubtedly others will). (Don't get me wrong, I do genuinely enjoy the game despite some of the faults Bungie has owned up to... And others they haven't. I wouldn't still be playing this game if that weren't the case. It is the fact that I do enjoy the game that leaves me feeling a little crapped on by the price point)

It's a bit much, yes, but look at it this way: If it were any less, then the digital collectors edition would be rendered completely obsolete for everyone. Why spend that $80 when you could buy the legendary edition then spend $5 on the emotes and class items? Honestly, I don't really care either way. I'm getting the physical CE, and they're just cosmetics anyways. I never felt cheated out of the blacksmith shader.

If you already have destiny TDB and HOW...you play $40 for the digital copy..... And if you really REALLY REALLY want the dances and the class items the noobs are gettin you can IF YOU WANT TO pay 20 bucks more

It's really simple: Don't and shut the -blam!- up. Additionally, I really hope that all of you who bitched don't buy TTK so that this community can be stronger because we don't need your negative dead weight. Leave and allow the real fans to continue playing this game please, but the real joke is the majority of you won't. You'll pay the expansion price and bitch anyway the whole time and the community of us who actually care about this game will lose every step of the way because you are emotionally a child.

Already bought the Caydes CE....because I would pay hundreds for that memorabilia alone so imo...they underpriced. Wonder wth they are gonna give the already existing CE holders. It'd be nice if there was actually something exclusive in game like the red ghost

1 ReplyCapitalism, this game would never have been made without it, and would be cancelled before it's ten year plan is finished if it can't make buckets of money. Nobody in the business looks at something and says "what's the minimum we can charge for this without losing money?" Investors want to make money, charging a premium for premium content is a great way to do that, the customer only pays it if they want. Let's let those who want to really show off there dance moves carry some financial burden for those who don't, I like the game and support it, so I'll probably get it.

So people pay 3$ for snoop doggs voice in call of duty... id pay 3$ for the emotes and shaders sold separately and thats 28$ and i still dont have a problem with 28$ for 9 customizations I spent 31 etheric light on good looking armour

20 bucks is half of the expansion cost for TTK and the cost of the previous DLCs so all you fukos saying it's not a big deal are saying that cosmetic bs is worth the same as playable content and you're -blam!-ing stupid.

The best news is that people [i]can[/i] obtain these without repurchasing anything. The price is irrelevant IMO as Bungie deem these to be worth $20, if people don't - don't buy it.

I really wish that Destiny would just go to a paid subscription already so those who love it can play and those who don't can get lost. LOL It's really been the only game I have had interest in since September. Bought GTA, CoD, ESO, Dying Light, Evolve.....always a couple hours in and back to orbit! LOL
