If you don't have the achievement/trophy in that picture with the day one time stamp (9/9/14 or 9/11/14 Japan) you are NOT a day one.

Edit: yes obviously there were alpha and beta players (I was one of those who did both). This post is me making a definitive and literal answer to all those dumb posts people keep making trying to say items or other things mean day one. So lighten up people it's just a literal answer to "what defines a day one player?"
Edit#2: to all of you who keep saying, "but beta this and beta that" as if presented to me by RNGJesus himself, I played this guy in this picture below three games ago. So no. You are NOT day one as stated prior :))))))))

Edit...even though I played day one, I pretty much quit around March, except running through the new content of HoW. My question, if you are a day one player that is still playing...why? What about this game keeps you playing the same stuff, over and over and over and over? I dunno, seems like a strange thing to be prideful over, to be so enamored over one thing to the point of giving up any variety in one's gaming life.

2 RepliesActually it says I've unlocked all of the achievements on 27th December, even though I got the game week 2. I had it on 360, then when I upgraded to one, it gave me all the achievements I'd unlocked
