I'm a little pissed about it. It's just the principle of locking out content so they could get more money through a partnership with red-bull. Another scheme to get us to spend our money and milk us dry. Still on the fence about purchasing TTK, a lot of other good games coming out. Oh well. What do others think?
p.s. checkout planet destiny for info:

Edit: Also to add I'm in the UK and it looks like this content might be region locked to the US mainly because the promo codes might not be available here. Pretty shitty of Bungie really....
Edit 2: Looks like other companies have started poking fun (props to nosworc for posting this):

Edit 3: OK so just a quick mention here - yes the quest will become available in January. But that is still a 3 month lockout period for people who don't want to buy a pack of redbull to get in-game content. I think people are missing the point around why I'm disappointed about this - it's the principle behind the fact they want to boost sales by getting us to buy a product not related in any way whatsoever to the game. Worse still the product is proven to be bad for consumers health.
I know other game companies do this, but really we are talking about halo and COD, so it's not like they need to do this to increase profits. Why not instead just have introduced a veterans collectors edition - that would have done wonders for their revenue too. No, instead they sell-out to redbull.

Edited by B1GRich74: 6/24/2015 9:38:19 PMI won't be part of it, I'm not a fat kid who lives on it, plus i'm UK based. Another nail in destinys coffin for me!

2 RepliesTo be honest, this is the first thing that has bothered me at all. I don't care that the emotes and shader are bundled. Don't care that Luke smith made the comments he made. However, this red bull thing shows that they have sold out. I don't blame Bungie though. Activision is the monster here. Didn't they do something similar with call of duty and Mountain Dew?
