I love the hard light and it upsets me to hear people hate it and and not explain

Because we had it before the nerf and now it is a sad memory of its former bullet spamming glory
-
I have one maxed and it's a fun gun to shoot but that's about it. It doesn't have enough oomph!

Edited by DoyleBingster: 6/23/2015 7:59:35 PMI don't hate it, but it's a very frustrating piece of weaponry in that it was ALMOST perfect. Give it arc damage and I'm content with it.
-
Auto rifle need + bullet hose. + no arc burn = no me gusta
-
The reason why people don't like it is because first and foremost it is an auto rifle which all of the auto rifles got nerfed. Second it is an exotic primary people would use icebreaker or Gjallarhorn or some other exotic. And for some reason if though it shoots blueish bullets but doesn't do arc damage. But I'm not hating on the weapon I think it is underrated. Just giving you some insight on why people don't like this weapon.

I love it aswell. If only i aaw it in it's glory days.

Edited by O_Town_Racer: 6/23/2015 5:44:25 PMI believe most people who have it actually love it.....they just don't use it - or any auto-rifle at this point since they've been nerfed into obsolescence. We continue to hold out hope for a recalibration to bring them back into mainstream use. Suros Regime used to be one of my favorites.
-
Don't hate it but there's so many better exotics out there
-
Cause it is a SMG
-
it shoots arc looking rounds with no burn damage for one
-
Because it ttk sucks
-
I don't think they hate it. Its FUN to use on patrols or other weak content. You aren't going to see too many people using it for harder content, though, and that's because it shoots marshmallows. That isn't the Hard Light's fault, that is all auto rifles since they got nerfed. Its a shame too because Suros just sits in my fault now. It used to be a top 3 primary.
-
I don't know
-
Because it's a weapon used by retards since it does no damage.
-
Your mom didn't last night.
-
Because it's garbage
-
its awful, it was even pre nerf. i had it since week 2 (nightfall drop) and its just terrible.. it looks and sounds great but does next to no damage and is unstable as hell (even though the perks are their for extra stability) - i have over 2.7k kills with it and i still dont know why :/

5 RepliesI hate auto rifles, always did. Even before the nerfs. But yesterday I pulled out my suros and hard light to finally get the grimoire points (only 5000 kills more to go! Yeah this is how much I disliked auto rifles) and I had an amazing time with it. Only did the daily with it but it was surprisingly shredding through majors. I wish the ricochet effect would be better. I'd love to play billiard with my bullets and kill enemies behind cover. But so far this effect doesn't do anything? Still a very fun gun to use! Suros on the other hand is just boring.
-
Because I have legendaries that are far superior.
-
It's a great looking weapon, it's just not really a viable choice for most high level encounters, doesn't pack enough punch and isn't super useful. If it was a legendary it would get more use, but people don't want to waste an exotic slot on it.
-
Its an auto rifle
-
Plus 1 to you sir, you have taste. ;) Hardlight is my go too for PvP and I love using it in PvE too. It does fall short in most raids though. It just looks and sounds amazing!
-
Unstable. Owned by suros. Current state of AR.

2 RepliesI love the gun, incredibly fun to use. I think it's absolute crap in every way though. If you are doing great with Hard Light in PVP, I guarantee you that you will do even better with any legendary or exotic Pulse Rifle. And you will do WAY better with a legendary or exotic Hand Cannon. The first of its many problems is the range is too low. To actually win any 1v1 fights you have to be in shotgun range, so you're already dead to any shotgunner with Blink or who can slide shotgun. And the biggest problem is that its perks are all so mismatched and odd. Let's take a look at tier 1, you have the choice between Accurized Ballistics, CQB Ballistics, Aggressive Ballistics. Your only choice is Accurized Ballistics. QCB Ballistics take away its already abysmal Range and Impact, but adds to Hard Light's only good factor, which is its stability. Then there is Aggressive Ballistics. It's just not a choice because of the range decrease. If I want to even have a little chance of competing with Thorn's, Last Word's, and Red Death's I need the range. Then tier 2. Glass Half Full is absolutely useless, it adds a grand total of 1 extra damage per shot. This perk would be much better replaced by RangeFinder, Persistence, or maybe even Who's Next would be much better upgrades Tier 4 (skipping damage upgrade). This is the only tier that offers something useful and it is the only tier that offers something with multiple choices. We have Quickdraw, Fitted Stock, and Field Scout. Quickdraw is pretty much always discarded, and it is not different in this case. Fitted Stock makes this weapon incredibly easy to shoot with. If you manage to actually get to the range where this weapon is effective and not get killed by a shotgun this gun can get consistent 20 damage headshots and absolutely destroy someone in a second. Field Scout is good just because it means you can shoot longer and deal more damage before you have to reload, and that's a real blessing on a weapon like this with such a high rate of fire. I'm kind of wondering to myself if Send It might be a great perk here, but it would obviously push the weapon into OP category if they gave it Send it AND increased its base range. Then there is tier 5. The exotic perk that really shouldn't be considered an exotic perk at all. I did not notice any difference at all between before the perk and after the perk. It needs to be significantly buffed or changed completely. Maybe make the bounces deal explosive rounds damage with each bounce if you were to buff it. But I personally believe it needs to be changed completely. Now there might be and most likely is a much bigger difference in PVE, the perk may actually be pretty good there. But that kind of brings me to my next point. There are plenty of better options in PVE as well. Bad JuJu, Gjallarhorn, Invective, Icebreaker, Thorn. All are exotic weapons I have that in my experience are way better than Hard Light. So there is no point for this weapon in PVP or PVE. However there are a few redeeming qualities about this weapon. Once it actually gets to a certain range it will dominate any weapon out there, minus a Shotgun of course. And it's stability and rate of fire with low impact make it satisfying and fun to use, seeing someones health bar fade so quickly because they thought they could 1v1 me with thorn at melee range puts a grin on my face. This weapon could be a great weapon and top tier (but not OP) with some changes.

3 RepliesBecause of the AR DE-BUFF It's worthless now sorry m8 unless they bring back auto rifles back it's completely worthless
-
1 ReplyIt's a slightly better against all odds. That and it looks cool. Overall, there's better exotics to use.
