365 Fatebringer may be forever lost in time
Weapon ascension may not be available for year one weapons and gear when Taken King DLC arrives.

This is a constantly growing and expanding game. Eventually, the oldest weapons won't be able to stand up to the new challenges, and they shouldn't! I love my fatebringer, and it's the first weapon I used Etheric light on, but for one weapon to be better than everything else just means you'll never try any of the new weapons. Keep an open mind! :-)

Meaning we'd still have to run HoW to get Etheric Light to upgrade weapons, then run TTK to upgrade again. I only raid now for shits and gigs because they're redundant but Bungie's problem is that they keep making older content obsolete after a DLC comes out.

I absolutely love the fatebringer and vision of confluence but at the same time bungie shouldn't be so lazy that they simply allow us to upgrade the weapons. What they should be doing is putting effort into coming up with even better hand cannons and scouts with similar perks that drop in the new content. IMO, this is what's wrong with the prison of elders, it was fun the first few times but now not so much and there's nothing worth playing it for because of all the ascended weapons I already have.

The Fatebringer is a raid weapon right, so are you telling me that VOG raid will be lost in time also or you can play the VOG raid but not any rewards?

To be honest if they are bundling Dark below + HoW weapons in a season pass then VoG should be viable as well. It should be the way it is now, by working to get that weapon up to standard. Look at the exotics are those being ditched too?

This is normal in games of this type. The fact that we were even able to ascend our vanilla weapons in the first place is amazing.

Edited by Kostaroska: 6/18/2015 9:10:50 AMdamage is going away and it's being replaced by a light level probably your any given time light level. there are photos out there from the new weapons and in the place of the damage it has the light thingy and your current level which in the case of the photos was 34. if you think about it it makes sense too cause as it seems we r going at least level 50 so from now on your weapons as it seems will follow your light level.

Planet Destiny had in one of their youtube vids about TTK a handcanon with firefly, Was the last gun they showed This game needs progress, it will be painfull to se Fatebringer/VoC at some point be useless but it will prob happen

Fatebringer still has the perks and rolls you want. Regardless of whatever it still did better than 331 word of crota did in crota hard raid. So even if the new cap is 400 365 fatebringer will still be weapon of choice. It's also arc which is good for most enemies Shields.

I seen a TTK hand cannon that had firefly in a planet destiny video, couldn't see if it was elemental or not though!
