Truthfully I look at it like this
Game- $60
Expansion pass- $25
The taken king expansion-$40
Total- $125
This is what I paid/ would pay for the game as someone who has been here from day one picked up my copy at the midnight launch
Retail price for all above in one case brand new at best edition with all the bells and whistles- $80
No, I do not think it is worth the extra $45 dollars that I would have in total difference cost to buy the taken king. In fact it almost pisses me off that the true fans that have been here since day one and are still here still playing and simply love this game. The guardians who have donated to your causes and bought your merch and essentially have paid your paychecks are getting robbed. I understand that it is about making money. But you messed up on the marketing of this expansion. And unless the price goes down or gets cut completely for this expansion. You have lost a guardian.
Just like other games with expansions I don't see how it's so hard to require the previous game be bought first then charge the expansion. The way it's marketed is complete crap and screws over your real fans. Just a thought. IDK

Just like other expansions? Everytime blizzard releases a new world of Warcraft expansion you can get the earlier content for dirt cheap. That's normal, you don't hear their community complain..same with diablo 3..

I agree. And know that they have to make money somehow. I am aware that even now you can pick this game up at GameStop for 37 bucks used. I am not apposed to paying for content. Truthfully what I would like to see is a year two season pass. Even if that was $40 I would still feel a little better. I don't think they really looked at the marketing on this when they set the original game at a zero dollar value. It's subject to opinion of course but hopefully they see where some of the community come from. And/or later down the road show us what exactly would make it worth while. Right now we have 1 video and a price.
